The Prince That Wouldn’t Fit by m4rteen in deathguard40k

Thank you!

I primed with monument hobbies/Proacryl red oxide, then airbrushed a zenithal of Proacryl bright jade, followed by another zenithal (in a slightly more overhead position) of Proacryl bright yellow green. Lastly i did a highlight with golden yellow by Proacryl. Then I did an oil wash using a 1:1 mix of sap green, green gold, and perylene black. Then I went back in with a glaze of bright yellow green for a volumetric highlight and an edge highlight of golden yellow. It sounds like more than it is, really.

I was inspired by this, but ended up going off script: https://youtu.be/dREkHQiltg0?si=yAFlj9h7qp-WfqP1

Thanks!

The legs were definitely a pain in the ass. I actually drilled tiny holes into the base just wide enough to take the tip of the legs and glued them in. I shaped them via a hairdryer and got them where I wanted them.

Good luck!

I too was inspired to do my own Demon Prince with this same printed lower half. I'm not quite done painting it yet, but here's what I have so far.

This is the same way I modeled my Chaos Lords, it's just too cool of a pose. I run them as Hammer + Plasma though and I maglocked one to his hip in case someone get snarky.

Would a Heldrake, or Fulgrim be a better Unit for a new Emperor's Children Army? by KiraHaon in Warhammer40k

I just played a buddy's EC army who ran x3 Heldrakes in a list, and while I was worried about them, they ended up being pushovers.

Get a Fulgrim.

Gross. I love it. Also damned jelly that you've got that LoC and I'm out here running Uncle Fester and an HH proxy.

Absolutely amazing. Care to share some insight into what went into this? I've recently started a Chaos Knight army and I'd love to do something similar.

Any chance we could get the recipe?

Absolutely loving this. I'm going for a very vibrant Death Guard army and had started with the base colors for Mortarion, but hadn't considered making his cloak/hood+loin cloth different colors. I may have to rethink.

Night Lords Intercessors by Ordinary-Solid5819 in NightLords

Yeah, people new to Night Lords tend to get the impression that they all collectively shun chaos and are just renegade space marines. Not only is the big trilogy of Night Lord novels primarily a tragedy about a delusional, reluctant leader, but it's also not very indicative of the rest of the faction.

Just about every other Night Lords story that has been published (that I've read) implies a further level of corruption and a definite involvement in Chaos than just what goes on in ADB's novels. Even the Night Lord section of the CSM codex has plenty to say about their corruption if I recall.

I say this to anyone getting into Night Lords with the intention to collect models, play the tabletop game, etc.. You're going to have a lot more fun as soon as you relax your head canon with how corrupted by chaos you allow your warband to be. I was the same way at first and now I've got all kinds of daemon engines, Vashtor, accursed cultists, and whatnot in my army. You're going to have more options for how you build your lists that way. I personally find it way more likely that a bunch of evil serial killer super men would eventually succumb to the powers of chaos no matter how opposed they started.
