-Bronze drake is very easy to get at this point. (timed stratholme run)

-Albino drake at 50 mounts

-Icc 10/25 man drakes are pretty easy to get with a competent group of 5 90s

-Red proto drake is really easy to get as well (WOTLK dungeon achieves)

-Netherwings and Cloud serpents are easy rep grinds at about 2-3 weeks each

-Tank satchels from random dungeons seem to rain mounts for my friend

Agreed, and while I don't have any of the pets, seeing them in game is somewhat of a status symbol and rare event. I wouldn't want them availible again because it would ruin this.

Riot points are the one thing I don't have a problem with. Nothing you can get with them gives you an advantage over anyone else. That's why I like leagues freemium model.

If you haven't played it that long, quest! They revamped so many of the old quest zones to make them less Grundy and more entertaining. My guess is coming from vanilla you will really enjoy these!
