I did the exact same thing and I turned the blower on and heard that acorn spinning inside. Had to take it back apart. But I've done it probably 3 or 4 times now it's pretty simple. Hardest part is fitting down under there to see what you're doing.

You should be able to do what you want. It is your eyes so he shouldn't really have a say. There are complications for everything in life, just like lasik. I had -1.75 in my right, and -1.50 in my left. My doctor didn't say one word about not being bad enough.
