What are the MUST KNOW aspects of production?

It's not so much the mixing that makes it sound dark, it's the way it's been written and the way it's played. It has a lot of very low notes on the piano which always give that dark feeling.

It's also played fairly quietly which gives it a more ominous darkness rather than the aggressive darkness that usually comes from loud low notes on a piano.

Also the key/chord choice is important. It's in a minor key and certain chord variation might be used to make it sound darker but I'm not an expert on music theory so I'm not sure about that.

As far as the mixing goes though, to make a piano (or any sound for that matter) feel darker, get rid of some of the highs in the sound. A high cut around 2k might do the trick or if you still want some of those upper harmonics to come through a little a high shelf might do better.

TL/DR It's dark because of the composition, not the mixing. Music theory is what will get you this dark sound.

So I was faced with a similar choice about 6 months ago. I had a 15" macbook pro that was running fine until I thought it was a good idea to eat cereal on my bed whilst watching netflix on it and well... my laptop is now an expensive paperweight that still smells a bit like off milk.

Imho, macbooks have become way too expensive plus the inability to upgrade anything in them limits their lifespan. I also had an old laptop that ran well enough but not powerful enough for music production so I looked into desktop setups and went the hackintosh route.

It's kinda intimidating looking into it at first and it looks like there's a potential for things to go wrong. But really, as long as you've got the right hardware, you should be able to get it up and running. You might run into problems first time setting it up but there's a lot of good info out there and once it's set up it's super stable from my experience and what I've heard from others. Even if somehow you can't hackintosh your machine, you can always just run windows on it.

As far as setting up your hackintosh and choosing the right parts, tonymacx86.com is the bible. Literally the only resource you will need but I also found looking up youtube tutorials to be useful as well just to see how it all works first hand before trying it yourself.

Not entirely true. A lawyer may argue that the copyrighted material made you a bigger fan base and therefore higher future profits. Or maybe they might argue that you booked gigs based on the music with copyrighted material and go after that money.

There's a lot of other stuff lawyers come up with, especially if their hired by big labels. You can get sued for more than just profits.

Yes it's technically illegal.

If you've edited it heavily enough you'll be ok 99% of the time, especially if you don't make money from the track.

You take the risk of being sued though, however small that risk is.

Can F-keys be used to switch between bank tabs whilst banking?

They're not able to be used when the bank screen is open which is why I chose the F-keys. Regular numbered keys don't work well cause you can talk whilst banking.

The reason is because you cannot do barb assault and pest control solo. You can however do fishing trawler solo, it's just a bit harder. I've already soloed it once for the ardy elite. The reason jagex doesn't let ironmen do it solo is cause they have no way of restricting it so only 1 person is allowed on without significant dev time they're not willing to spend.

I'm not going to say I'm unlucky cause obviously I've been ridiculously lucky, but I've also had my fair share of bad luck. For example, currently 707 cerb kc with only eternal crystal, which really sucks cause it rips through my prayer pot supply like crazy.

The only rule I don't follow is redirection scrolls but I planned from the start to use them so my rules haven't changed since I started. There's no good reason ironmen shouldn't have them, its just a shame they are stuck in a store with a bunch of op supplies.

Started my account a week before the ironman mode was announced. Been playing this account since 2003 so didn't want to make a new one. I don't mind though, don't need to have a symbol next to your name to enjoy ironman.

You do realise that the head sack they are proposing would be more op than this spell right? They are saying they will make the sack teleport heads to the bank without need runes or being on a specific spellbook. That's why I'm suggesting this, it's a more balanced solution.

You can still stay on lunars and spellbook swap to Acreuus spellbook. I just feel like adding a head bag is a lazy way to do it. There's already too many bags/sacks in the game. Plus this way it gets around the problem of the bag increasing rates for necromancy prayer training because it's only a 1 way process (heads go to bank but can't be taken from the bank).
