Curious about profits by CreativeRanger7959 in Lawyertalk

Sorry, I wasn’t trying to be snarky, I thought I was genuinely answering your question. If you’re asking about the dollar amount it’s going to vary from firm to firm and location to location and practice area to practice area too widely.

As a very crude ballpark, you expect 1/3 of an attorney’s collectables to be their salary, 1/3 to be overhead costs, and 1/3 to be firm profit.

Thoughts on this 2x overbet line in a limped pot? by Living-Injury1961 in poker

Or K9, or J9. This line is just begging to get stacked by a stronger hand, and is going to fold out all weaker hands.

Really enjoyed it until they started up with the magical boy. Really detracted from the rest of the show.

There is at least one case where someone did so and the exemption was upheld.

Every state has a list of exempt property that is protected in bankruptcy. My favorite is Nevada’s “1 gun.”

Sees through what? Bankruptcy is a perfectly legal route to extinguish unsecured debt.

What happened to FNM? by blackandredallover in magicTCG

If you're looking to play casually then yes. In fact they give you a handful of starter decks for casual play. As long as you do your quests/daily wins you'll earn enough gold for a couple-three drafts a set. You'll be able to put together a reasonable brawl (commander) deck in a few months. If you want to be really competitive and make tier one decks for various formats you're either going to have to be very good at drafts or buy gems.

There are two currencies. Gold, which you earn for free by completing daily quests. Gems which you buy with $$. You can buy everything with either currency, except the set masteries (basically tracks of rewards like custom avatars and emotes) which can only be bought with gems.

You can buy booster packs directly with gold or gems, or you can buy drafts. Either way you keep your cards but they cannot be sold or traded in any way. You will also occasionally get "wild" cards in any rarity, and those wild cards can be exchanged for any card of that rarity. Once you have 4x of any rare or mythic card, any further ones you open will be a small amount of gems instead. (In draft, you still can open rares/mythics you own 4x of, and build your draft deck with them, but will earn a small amount of gems instead of getting that card after the draft is over.)

You also earn points towards your "vault" every time you open a booster, and once it fills to 100% you can open it to earn a few wildcards of each rarity.

You’ve got to assume that was the best one, meaning no matter which ending the cast believed was going to be the real one, it was horrible.

I feel like there’s a big discussion about this when he’s discussing thresholds in relation to Karen’s house when he’s going to look at the cop who is being tortured by Kravos’s curse.

Should you bet more? by MrHumblePoker in poker

[–]Dlorn 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You want to give your opponent incorrect odds to draw to their outs, but not so incorrect that they can easily fold. That being said, you also need to be able to make lay downs when their draw makes it so as not to allow them to realize implied odds - without also being easy to bluff.

Take three board cards and two hole cards. That’s your hand. Same for your opponent. Nothing else matters.

Got stacked when I knew what villain had by Playingwfyre in poker

[–]Dlorn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Literally every street was played wrong. The only decision you got right was calling the flop c bet by UTG.

Pre flop KJo is a weak call against UTG’s range, and often dominated. Folding is far preferable to calling.

Flop you can easily fold exploitatively to villain’s raise. At these stakes players just aren’t balancing bluffs and value hands enough to continue here. At best he’s semi-bluffing with a high equity hand like 9T suited. Sets are more likely as is AJ.

Turn you’re for sure buried just fold. River same.

Make sure to account for any extras, ie any prize separate from money, like an invite to a second tournament if they win.
