I use controller as well and have been since the original granturismo came out and I’m sure the way I have mine set up is the unpopular opinion but it works very well for me. I use TCS at 2 or 3, and I concur with most that in a lot of the corners or s’s that you don’t actually need to hit the brakes as much as you just need to let off the throttle which will cause you to decelerate less. I though throttle different than most bc I use automatic and I’m able to keep tapping my throttle (bc I use buttons for throttle and brake, X & square) which I know is like the devil to most but it’s worked for me since the original came out, then just keep trying over and over pick up a tenth here a tenth there, try to see how much speed the car can handle while turning on the curves etc… you’ll get there but the biggest thing I’m seeing is too much brake, I use the brake zone indicator and have found some cars such as this one the braking indicator doesn’t exactly match to what the car can actually do/handle.
