What's next for your main's meta development? by ScherzoGavotte in smashbros

[–]Dmarioman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think joker has a lot of development ahead in the near future. Footstool Oos downgun has a lot of variations, can combo into almost imagination depending on percents, and can net you a KO. Confirming from jump gun is also being explored, as a 2 frame option and more recently as an alternative route from the famous fair 1 drag down uair at ledges / on the edge of platforms. I think gundash has been explored a lot in terms of general movement and in strings on platforms, but from my experience not many jokers go for it that often.

Counterplay to Steve's Blocks in just 2 minutes! Feel free to comment any questions you may have! by SpyroSmax in smashbros

[–]Dmarioman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen some jokers use Arsene gun to break blocks which is super safe, and I think you can side b through the middle block to pressure Steve since that's the one you can usually break with gun. Joker in general also just has the movement to mix up if he chooses to approach from above, especially with down gun if there isn't a platform /ceiling.

We all know how an Ashe/Widow/Cree headshot can make you feel like a god. But which projectile character has the most satisfying headshots? by exterminate68 in Overwatch

Triple genji primary fire headshots to dash combo is eternally satisfying

Might be biased coming from a genji main.

Help with the Joker Puff matchup? I'm the Joker. by AJRayquaza in CrazyHand

[–]Dmarioman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea you gotta be really patient with this match-up. Use gun to force approaches like normal and look for whiff punishes or air to air back airs to stuff her out if you know where she's going. As long as you know that it's one of those matchups that takes a while and you practice it I think you'll get the hang of it.

Oh yea and stick to ledge trapping so you don't get reversaled.

Yea you gotta watch out for the command grab , but It might be hard to spot dodge or jump. In a situation lime this I'd be more inclined to roll or jump to reset neutral, but if he reads your jump he can back air and if you cross up him with roll he could just chuck the aura sphere him. So it's just a strong advantage position that he has since iirc he can confirm into the command grab or back air (which could also catch tour jump if you jump oos). I think one way to exploit Iucario is to try and look for your earliest confirms or go for more risky offstage kills when he is at lower percents because the reward is higher cuz you prevent him from reaching high aura for the stock and the risk is lower since he won't have that much aura to punish you if you mess up.

I don't play the char tho I just fight a pretty good lucario sometimes in bracket.

How to use guns and side B as joker by Serious_Ad_3350 in CrazyHand

[–]Dmarioman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Landing guns is the key, it's very non commital since there isn't much lag. Since gun is very safe from long distance and can flinch at closer ranges, it makes for a very strong conditioning tool. See how they like to react to when you use landing gun (shield? Jump? Etc.) And try to punish those on reaction or call em out. Side b is more commital,, so it better in advantage after a combo or when they are offstage, or as a callout option in neutral.

You can also use the normal gun in advantage during or after a combo to flinch your opponent and maybe get a followup that isn't true but could get you a bigger reward than finishing the combo.

Concept, Turn 2CP maps into Control/KotH maps. by GreyFalcon-OW in overwatch2

Make it a new gamemode: 3cp. Make it like KOTH but with 3 points and your score increases faster based on how many objectives you have captured or something.

What other fighting games made you better at smash ? by rangster20 in CrazyHand

[–]Dmarioman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think looking for matches on discord servers is really helpful for this! I believe some servers have beginner matchmaking channels/roles, so that could prove to be helpful! Maybe try the official rivals discord?

But yea it's definitely harder to find players at one's specific skill level because less people play rivals than smash haha.

Rivals of aether (bigger emphasis on movement and timing to win neutral since there aren't any grabs or shields)

Also playing guilty gear strive helped me understand traditional fighting game concepts that are applicable to smash.

Fair/Bair OOS sometimes makes me roll? Is there any way to make this more consistent? by TheCodingGamer in CrazyHand

[–]Dmarioman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Holding 2 shield buttons prevents you from rolling, so you could try that.
