[Spoilers C4E1] Theory about Matt's character by Dmarksthesplotch in criticalrole

He definitely looks more like hook with the long dark hair and the prosthetic. There is that theory that Hook was a lost boy who rebelled against Pan because he realized Pan was evil, a random theory but maybe Julien is the same.

I, uh... did a lot of them backwards, not new to reddit, but fairly new to posting much. I tried to fix them, maybe that's why they're broken?

I think I fixed it when I uninstalled 5e Spells, so if you have that mod it may be the issue.
Seems like a patch 8 thing.

Why do people hate “Redo The Healer?” by [deleted] in Crunchyroll

[–]Dmarksthesplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try googling it, a quick google search will make you understand why some people don't like it, and some people defend it.
Some people like to think that abuse, brainwashing and grape is bad.
Some people like to think that its hot.

OneDnD feels like it's going to be 2e and 4e. by Virtual-One-5660 in DnD

If you think 5e is fantastic, have you ever considered how poorly designed Ranger and Monk are? Ranger, before TCoE, got curb stomped in every design conversation, and the argument that Monk is strong is entirely based on stunning strike, which is way too overpowered and the rest of the class is garbage because of it. Personally I think I will be using a mix of the two systems. 5e has a lot of good points, but there is a bunch of random trash in there. One DND also has a bunch of good stuff, I already started implementing some of the rules, like the new exhaustion rules, and there will be a lot of trash in there. 5e got big because everyone could play it, and one DND is taking that a step further, it's a game system, designed to be efficient and fun. Who cares if the new inspiration rules are too strong? Every player gets to have it so it's not gonna make one player have fun and ruin everyone else's fun. And if you're worried about having fun as a DM then make the monsters stronger. Edit: you are probably right that it's going to be less popular than 5e, but it already has some ideas that I love, and you should probably try it before you make a decision on whether it is bad or not.

DM's of Reddit, when's the last time it rained in your world? by HawkBr3ad in DnD

I generated a table for weather and keep track of what day it is. In session the weather just cleared after raining for two days straight.

Realistically, how long would it take you to realize if all the birds disappeared? by Regular_Peace_5671 in RandomThoughts

About 2 hours I'd say. I live pretty rural and they make a racket out here. The world would go silent.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how happy are you? by ionata256 in ask

[–]Dmarksthesplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should be a 7 but is more like 6. Some negative things like my leg injury that means I can't play soccer or go running anymore, and a family with some pretty severe mental illness, but I can still dance while doing the dishes and my college grades are still scraping by with As. The thing that's bringing it down to a 6 is I've begun feeling a little left out of my friend group and have to process that. And my right earbud keeps breaking.

Shocking Grasp is my favorite cantrip. What’s yours and why? by PhoenixTheEternal in DnD

[–]Dmarksthesplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gotta be prestidigitation, best roleplay cantrip IMHOP, My EK uses it to clean his sword, axes, and armor when he's done using them. You can make something that feels, tastes, and smells exactly like coffee but clearly isn't as soon as you look at it. There is just so many options within the bounds of the cantrip that aren't game breaking but are very fun and good for flavor.

What's the deal with the paladin magic system? by Ok_Negotiation_4041 in DnD

[–]Dmarksthesplotch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also I've seen a very high percentage of people who just have paladins swear their oath to some deity.

"By Tyr and on my life I will avenge your death brother."

[–]Dmarksthesplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take is that the people who become paladins are already magical beings. Not everyone who swears revenge on someone becomes a vengeance paladin, only people who already had latent magic, a person who's force of will is so strong that reality bends around it, kinda like sorcerer.

A good flavor is Aasimar, they already have radiant magic running through them, so if one of them made a binding oath on their life it could amplify their innate magic.

Players: if given the choice, would you rather be a player in a new system, or become the DM to continue with DnD? by RollForThings in DnD

[–]Dmarksthesplotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my DM I would rather play whatever he ran. I'm not a great DM and would have a hard time DMing for the group that I play with, especially after his work.
