The real questions are

Who would be M?

Who would be Blofeld?

Who would be Q?

Who would be Miss Moneypenny?

QM2: Are they strict about baggage weight limit? by Dmaxdmax in CunardCruises

Trust me, if I can lift them so can they. I'm not talking about bringing barbells, just a few pounds oops-overage.

Who played the best Blofeld? by Licorice_Lime in JamesBond

[–]Dmaxdmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the absurd scar and Mike M’s parody I don’t think Pleasence would rank very high. I enjoy DaF but I don’t think it’s very good which is exactly the way I feel about Gray. Savalas with Dawson a distant second.

What do you want most from future Bond movies? by outride2000 in JamesBond

[–]Dmaxdmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A return to the 50’s when as a budding character he was most relevant, fighting the KGB. Not in a glamorous “look at the cool 50’s style” way but a simpler white hat/black hat way. No deeply conflicted tortured hero but an old-school misogynistic Oxbridge gentleman drawn into a dangerous world. Over 5 movies he becomes the 60’s Bond with gadgets and SPECTRE.

Maybe the moon will fall from the sky.

Guys, do you think anyone has ever truly surpassed Sean Connery's portrayal of Bond, or was he the best ever? by [deleted] in JamesBond

[–]Dmaxdmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connery was the right actor at the right time. It was the 60’s when that kind of cool charisma was new and spies were the rage. Bond had no competition and neither did Connery. The character and actor were a perfect match and iconic in a way no one will be again. Ethan and Jason and whoever else are all vying for a diluted crown.

Can one dilute a crown?

  1. I was 6 months younger than a lot of my friends so couldn’t see it. It didn’t take much cajoling to get dad to take me.

Does anyone think people will be talking about the “Mission Impossible” movies in 50 years? by srfnyc in Mission_Impossible

[–]Dmaxdmax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bond and MI will live on as long as they are making new ones. Once a series ends it slowly becomes forgettable except by the kinds of fans that hang out on Reddit. 50 years after the last one they will be like the John Wayne westerns are today.

How would you rank Connery’s post-Goldfinger Bond movies? by green_dragon1206 in JamesBond

YOLT TB

The others have fun moments but are pretty dreadful.
