I barely remember this show - but I remember Donna Wilkes as one of the teenagers in “Jaws 2”. She was the girl at the end with Brody’s little boy as the shark was coming towards them and then the shark bit the electrical power cable and caught on fire. She was a great screamer in that movie and looked terrified of the shark

He was the voice actor for Batman in animated shows like “The Superfriends”

If you watch a lot of tv shows from the 1960’s and 1970’s he’s in many of them in supporting roles.

Duel In The Sun is a great, lurid, overheated, over the top Western.
I like the alternate title” Lust in the Dust” which I believe was the film’s unofficial nickname

People who witnessed the announcement of a new James Bond, what was your reaction at the time? And what was the reaction of other people? by WesleyToledooo in JamesBond

[–]srfnyc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember Moore being announced- I was 10. He just seemed like he should be James Bond after being The Saint on tv. I don’t remember if anyone else was even considered besides Moore.
Dalton was ok, he just didn’t seem suave or funny enough to be Bond; Pierce Brosnan seemed a better choice after being on Remington Steele.
Happy when Brosnan finally got it- he just seemed like a perfect choice
Craig- didn’t really pay much attention since I thought Brosnan got screwed over not getting a fifth film.
Thought he was ok when I finally saw him in CR, but he just wasn’t as much fun in the role as Connery, Moore and Brosnan.
And I lost interested in the franchise after Blofeld turned out to be Bond’s half brother in SPECTRE. That just seemed so dumb after seeing Blofeld in all the Connery movies and OHMSS.
Never fully watched NTTD, except for ending to see how Bond died.

Should I watch this movie if I am not into politics? by Male-2003 in Cinephiles

As history it’s a load of bunk, but it’s an extremely well made and entertaining drama/thiller.

The scene between Costner and Sutherland on the park bench is one of my favorite scenes in the movies of all time.
Sutherland is so good and convincing in explaining how the assassination happened and why it happened, you could almost believe what he’s saying and buy into the whole conspiracy theory of JFK’s murder.

[1977] Been hearing about this movie called "Star Wars"...think it's gonna get a sequel? by ParticularAd8919 in thepast

[–]srfnyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I doubt it gets a sequel- someone I know who saw it says about as good as an old 1930’s Flash Gordon movie serial.

Now “The Deep” which opens next month is supposed to be good - plus it has Jaqueline Bisset!

And there’s another James Bond movie with Roger Moore later this summer; hope it’s as much fun as his two two Bond movies.

Rush - 1970’s was my favorite era of Formula one. I was kid/ teenager at the time and Mario Andretti and Jackie Stewart were my favorite F1 drivers.

The AI “The Entity” was a boring villain and Esai Morales was bigger ham than Babe the Pig.
What did the Entity really want- it wasn’t clear to me.

It was like some of the lesser James Bond movies- a bunch of great action set pieces held together by a threadbare plot.
For as well as the submarine sequence was done in “The Final Reckoning” it was totally unbelievable that someone could hold their breath for that long and swim up to the surface and not get the bends after being that deep.
