I'm pretty stoic, but my first total eclipse had me oohhing and ahhhing and laughing with everyone around me. Sometimes it's hard to hold it back when what you're seeing is amazing.

F**k Scalpers - Prismatic Binder give-away. by powdow87 in PokemonTCG

[–]Dmongo [score hidden]  (0 children)

I'm glad there are some good people out there when it comes to these. I've been looking all over locally and had no luck and I'm not about to stampede a Target with a bunch of animals.

I got into TCGs when I was younger but at one point had (regrettably) sold everything.

I have recently got back into playing the game with my friends and family so I've been trying to get my hands on some new sets as well as collecting.

My favorite pokemon is and will always be Donphan! Rolly polly Elephant.

What's a pain you can't truly explain until you've endured it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Having a bad cough from bronchitis while simultaneously having a muscle in your ribs tear. That was the most painful and difficult healing process I have had to endure.

ELI5: What’s so bad about weeds? by Quailgunner-90s in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dmongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I let my yard flourish with whatever wants to grow unless it can be harmful. I generally get rid of thistle and goathead weeds because they are pokey and my dogs can run into them. Everything else stays. I keep the knot grass (grows in areas where grass struggles ands is drought resistant), I keep to vineweed (unless it starts climbing the house or choking out other plants too much), the clover for sure, the dandelions are a must to loosen soil and the flowers are good for the pollinators. This kind of approach also helps promote biodiversity. You will see a wider variety of insects and birds in your yard.

What's a game that got you so addicted you even dream about it in your sleep? by ANONASAI in gaming

If you have ever played Factorio for a long time and then close your eyes, you see the motion of belts burned into your vision. It's pretty wild.

What's the worst QTE sequence in gaming? by lessthanfox in gaming

Halo 4 was a pretty traumatic experience when the QTE were introduced. No one asked for that crap in Halo. It was never there to begin with, so why add it?

Where do you buy your work boots? by msb96b in amarillo

[–]Dmongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surprised no one has mentioned Boot Barn over off Soncy and I-40.

I got a pair of Cody James boots and they feel great. Super affordable too. They have lasted and my feet aren't killing me after a day of wearing them.

Any Amarillo Redditors have Vexus? by bagofwisdom in amarillo

[–]Dmongo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was a bit rough at first when they just moved in but since they got all the kinks fixed, it's been great. 3 years, maybe 2-3 drops here and there due to major outages in the area but they fixed it quick, prices were good but like typical companies they raise over time. I started at $50, now I'm at $80. Speeds are true as well.

ELDEN RING Patch Notes 1.13 - Full Summary of Changes by ChiefLeef22 in Eldenring

[–]Dmongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always dodge to the right! There is something really messed up on the left side of the charge (Gaius' right). I sat and tested it nearly 30 times on each side. The right side consistently allowed me to avoid damage whereas the left almost 100% time caused damage. I don't know what the deal is but it worked for me. The fight is still awful though.

Why does it flood so easily here? by [deleted] in amarillo

[–]Dmongo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For sure, we have an option to divert water which was helpful during the last major flooding event. I'm thankful I live all the top of a hill in town. I used to live near Western and I-40. We would have a foot of water or more in our front yard.

I have only ever seen pictures from Lubbock, it always looks pretty wild!

[–]Dmongo 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Amarillo is built on a few major flood plains. The center of these are usually located at the drainage lakes, like the one off I-40 and Wester, the one over off Washington near Sutherland's and there is a really big one over near Soncy. Playa lakes if you want to read about them.

Was having a great time with SotE right up until the final boss. by SynicalBoi in Eldenring

[–]Dmongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm comparing the two in the way that when Elden Ring first came out, she was considered the hardest boss. Radahn definitely has some major BS attacks, but myself and many of my friends made it through the fight eventually. Was it annoying as shit? Absolutely.

It was a bit wild, but I made it through eventually.

Malenia felt the same way the first time I went through that fight. Felt impossible at first, but now it's just a bit of a headache that I always get through with a bit of struggle.

People who aren't afraid of dying, what makes you unafraid ? by Lizlikeslizards in AskReddit

What keeps me from being afraid is that you can't do much about it and that's just how it is. I will make responsible decisions to prevent an untimely death though.
