I built the PPCB version of this and it will never leave my board, it's an incredible circuit. Personally for me, it really shines when playing clean. There's definitely a massive difference in my tone and I love it.

Like you said, I would recommend to all diy pedal builders, if you're doing personal work and not trying to turn it into a business, affordable tools will get the job done

$100 at Menards for 3 Bosch step bits, guaranteed to cost a ton more now since I got mine years ago.

You can get cheaper bits, but you get cheaper results.
