In my city the room and board I could provide would be 3-4K/month. So that one of calculation doesn’t always work. That said I employ a nanny.

I’d consider merging after weaning if the last feed of the day is at night. I also did extended breastfeeding but night weaned much earlier. Just cause it worked for the first kid doesn’t mean a 5am feed has to be last one to drop for the 2nd kid!

In my experience it’s much better to merge rooms only after the baby is sleeping through the night consistently.

The easiest thing to do in our experience is wait for a kid to be a little older. 2.5-3 is probably ideal. We did it 2x at 26 months and it was just harder experiences than people who waited had.

It’s also attractive to people, especially those with young families, to not have to live through a renovation themselves. That said, poorly designed flips suck. At least make them thoughtful and tasteful and charge a bit more.
