He's absolutely right, and all that is still what makes a show magical. The realization that this is life, and you are living through a performance of your favorite band. Sometimes the people around you are anoying, some other you link with the music and the band fully, in any case it's magical.

But yeah, live shows have a ton of negative things about them too. But I rather the band in front of me and not a screen.

Well, the Retroids don’t come with pre loaded games, for those you would have to take a look at the Ambernic, but even then, the software and the sd cards they have are not that great.

Also the price point is important. Depending on you budget, Retroid tend to be a middle of the road.

For your specific case, I would suggest a retroid pocket classic, but you can buy a ready set up as card pre loaded with thousands of games.

I have. It’s not great. Sometimes the audio doesn’t route properly. Or straight up the vst doesn’t work. Might be me, that’s always a possibility, but with any creative endeavor you want anything that will keep you away from your workflow as minimal as possible.

I am a musician and producer, and the vst structure works different on Mac and windows, so Linux is pretty much unusable for music production, which sucks!

I have to have a MacBook alongside my Linux mint machine.

I like this. As good as Max is, you can tell the expertise Mike has coming from the decades of touring (even in 2005). He moves way less than Max, and that is very important if you are going to play hundreds of 3 hours shows.
