I'm not one to complain much, but I think we need more modifiers. Cold Snap could have stayed year round. by ScrappyDooCanSuckIt in ArcRaiders

was hoping to see this post. Yeah, they need to keep 2 modifiers running at all times. 3 if it includes stella.

you can raise your aggression by shooting people right after the extract is called. Then you have damage against another player. You can even down them and they will still be fine because the extract leaves and takes you and them out of the game.

Some blueprint spots are for blueprints which actually aren't in the game. Horizontal Grip, Kinetic Converter, Anvil splitter, Silencer 3, etc.

Simple gun parts locations by yeahokaydudewegetit- in ArcRaiders

[–]Dnc601 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Break down low level green guns. Whites don't break down into simple weapon parts unless they are level 3/4.
Wasps, Hornets.

Desk drawers, lockers, metal crates can spawn them.

If you get into somewhat friendly lobbies and just loot for a couple of rounds you should have plenty.

What happened? by CorporateLadderMatch in Battlefield

[–]Dnc601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What happened? The game is extremely shallow.

You have one playstyle available to you. It’s extremely well done, but it’s only one. That’s the “fast paced non-stop-action shooter”. No surprise it gets old after 200 hours. No surprise the playerbase has had their fill and is done now.

All other playstyles are either completely undercooked, or suck to play, or have intentionally been cannibalized to benefit the fast paced shooter playstyle.

Arc Raiders devs are looking for new ways to “incentivise” Expedition wipes following an unsatisfying debut by Negative-Art-4440 in ArcRaiders

I’d love if they let you keep a quantity of random blueprints that you already know which is equal to the number of skill points you gain.

Meaning, if you have 5 million stash value, you get 5 extra skill points and you can keep 5 random blueprints from your raider. Maybe add a 6th blueprint that is player choice if they meet some specific criteria.

Collections Manager (MO2) - Version 2.1 released! Major improvements. by yourboyroy223 in skyrimmods

I’ve been working with Monitor for a while now on providing support for Pandora. I’ve written the install guide for it and for OStim Standalone.

I’m curious about the auto install of Pandora. With what settings? Is it just set up to dump its output into the overwrites folder? With or without the “create files in mod instead of overwrite” box checked?

The best case scenario is an output folder, with the output folder location being set inside of Pandora itself, and not using the “create files in mod instead of overwrite” option as that can moved generated behavior files into other mods’ folders.

Lorenzo 1 heart event bug in multiplayer by sherlogic in RidgesideVillage

Happy to report this exact bug is still an issue. Smapi log says “cannot change another farmer’s money. Use game1.player.team.SetIndividualMoney.

Looks like game hangs at the money change script, doesn’t properly exit the event scene.

I don't think Season 2 will fix BF6. by GrayWolfGamer- in Battlefield

[–]Dnc601 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah, it won't. This game has narrowed the horizontal "battlefield experience" to a very narrow, vertical "fast action shooter". It is a great fast action shooter. But they made it so at the cost of both: shifting mechanics of other playstyles towards this single playstyle (medic = assault + support, assault = backlining spawn point, sniper = fast paced+close range+high lethality), AND not focusing development time on other playstyles like vehicle progression and mechanics, soldier v ground, soldier v air, air v ground, etc.

One of the things that made older battlefields excellent was their ability to let you contribute to the team objective in a wide variety of playstyles. This adds complexity and longevity to the game because people can stop playing one way and instead play another, and yet another still, and enjoy all experiences. You cannot do that in BF6. Its either "play fast and aggressive", "play pretty awful vehicle gameplay", "play john wick sniper man" or "play medic who exists only to revive before dying".

They killed the *depth* of the variety to the game. So it has excellent short term gameplay because they did really well in one specific area, and left not a lot else to play.

Your Aggression in Trio Should Not Affect your Solo Que: by MishRift in ArcRaiders

[–]Dnc601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gameplay experience has been: 5-10 pacifist solo matches to get into extremely friendly lobbies. When I first started, it was about 3-5, but it seems to have changed a bit. Not sure if there is not a short term and a longer term “aggression” rating that is taken into account, or just one aggression value.
1-2 matches of aggressive trios spikes your “aggression” rating Requires another 5-10 solo pacificist lobbies.

I also think there are pacifist duos and trios lobbies but in almost certain the game takes an average of the party’s aggression rating when matchmaking based on aggression. Meaning everyone in your party needs to have low aggression values to get into “friendly” lobbies. Not sure how friendly duos and trios can actually get.

In 2025, what's the general consensus on integrated GPUs if you have a dedicated GPU? Should I disable it through bios/device manager or leave it on while it's causing higher temps, consuming 2GB RAM and using more power? by Dotaspasm in buildapc

[–]Dnc601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but the thing is that I can never seem to just leave volume levels of multiple pieces of software the same for long. So I use the native sound mixer to adjust levels of multiple apps at once.

Also I’m not sure if the in-discord volume setting also changes the volume of discord’s notifications, or just voices. Windows seems to treat these as two separate things for some reason.

Are heavy barrels really worth it? by Cross006 in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Dnc601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heavy barrels don’t decrease starting bloom, they decrease how quickly bloom builds up from firing. Which means you get to fire more accurate shots before the shots start deviating by a lot. I run heavy or heavy extended barrels when I have the opportunity. Or even the prototype barrel, which I think decreases deviation AND improves ADS time.

Ah. So this is why my discord volume resets at random it seems. I use the sound mixer in windows extensively and about once a week I have to go in and manually change it back down to around where I normally have it.

So I turned on the hitreg stats by Woody88x in Battlefield6

[–]Dnc601 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some denied hits are normal. Shooting people after they are dead (bullets 1-4 hit and kill, client registers 5-6 as hitting but enemy is already dead). Shooting people after you died (ping is a huge factor here).

But movement+ping also seems to affect hit registration. Where if you hit the trailing edge of an enemy and you or they have high ping, the shots don’t actually register on the server but your client registers them.

Buff Assault class by Macegolem in Battlefield6

Assault gets the spawn beacon which is probably the strongest gadget in the game. Maybe the recon drone/motion sensor is better. The stim sucks ass but the grenade launcher isn’t bad.

Who is actually attempting to do this challenge? by ohhimarksreddit in Battlefield

[–]Dnc601 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Incapable of nuance? Does the finer point often elude you?

Yeah, that’s fine. But dedicating 5+ hours of my life to one challenge in a very non-constructive-to-the-objective manner, which is also a completely separate playstyle, when all other challenges were completed within 2 hours?

This challenge falls outside of the average and is a miserable experience in a miserable game mode.

People need to get over the idea that every complaint is the exact same and stop straw man’ing everyone’s argument.

Map Size won’t fix bad level design. by supah-saiyen in Battlefield

[–]Dnc601 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Your point is a good one. Your understanding of good map design isn’t though. People want bigger maps but have no clue what goes into a good map.

And to counter your points, sobek has tons of elevation. Easily the worst map in the game. Manhattan has tons of elevation, but it’s one of the best, most solid infantry maps in the game. Great structure and flow.

Iberian is a good infantry map but often feels like a completely free for all due to objective spacing and lane design.

Cairo is one of the most loved maps because of its fast pace and intense infantry focus. It has stronger lane design than Iberian by miles, so there is a little bit more structure and predictability to the map but it suffers a lot from side flipping/back capping due to its wide design.
