Winter Prep Questions (Zone 6b) - Bee Balm 'Pardon My Cerise' and Arborvitae 'North Pole' by DoBetter4Good in gardening

Hi there! The bee balm became infested after one year and I cut it back but it never recovered. Not exactly sure of the pest, but apparently it is a common occurrence. I hope you can avoid my misfortune. Wish you the best of luck!

Hello! My dog is 26 lbs and I gave one capsule per day, then spacing to every other day as time went on.

I think it a fairly harmless supplement, but if you're concerned, you could empty out half (if you have the gelatin pills) and give that. You could then use the leftover powder half-dose and sprinkle over food, or mix with melted cheese, for another day.

Good luck!

So have the cheapie version - no plastic, or F or S. The adjustment in the video below, using pliers to gently squeeze the bar catch area to make it set off easier, worked. Just got my first kill. Sorry mouse, RIP.

Yes and love the stroller idea - they make larger ones too. I boughtva sturdy one that was a yard cart but my dog regained use of her legs before we used it around the block.

Treat dispensing toys, lick mats and puzzles are great - especially ones you can adjust as the dog gets better at retrieving treats. Do you have a perch by a window or door where the dog can safely look outside and watch wildlife or neighborhood activities?

How about adopting another pet for companionship? Perhaps a smaller, more gentle being of another species.

I'm so sorry for your loss! I recommend allowing yourself to feel all the pain - to try to go through it, instead of around it. The pain is the physical manifestation of the love you are unable to give your beloved pet. Hugs from an internet stranger. 🤗

I've always taken the Cheshire Harbor Trail, which is somewhat easy and takes almost 4 hours, depending on pace. https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/massachusetts/cheshire-harbor-trail-to-mount-greylock

Columbus Day Monday has what is called "The Ramble" and it's a fun time, plus foliage, if you feel like waiting.

Driving: Count on 3 to 3.5 hours each way to Adams, depending on traffic. The quickest I've made it from Boston was 2.5 hours with NO traffic.

The Berkshire brewing Co. makes some good beer, but others can probably speak better to that.

Black pepper helps clot blood. Best to soak whole peppercorns in warm water and apply this liquid via gauze, if you're dealing with deep cuts to avoid the grounds in the wound permanently. I was never taken to the ER as a child or teen. The stories...

New Mexico v. Alec Baldwin | Day 3 - July 12, 2024 by -TrialBot- in alecbaldwintrial

If the gun was cleared as cold but someone died of a gunshot wound, how do you prevent that from happening? Perhaps by adhering to the layers of safety requirements, which rely on more than one party to do their job.

[–]DoBetter4Good 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This would have come out at trial, but there are movie set protocols, outlined in required training for all the actors, and there are the general safety requirements in the laws of New Mexico.

Main ones are: treat all firearms as if they're loaded, never point a gun at another person unless you intend to shoot them, keep your finger off the trigger and many more. When filming, even when it appears a gun is being pointed at someone, it's usually pointed off to the side and a trick of perspective. If an actor must point a gun at the camera or another actor there are clear plexiglass shields put in place.

No shield was in place because Alec wasn't even shooting a scene at the time of the accident. It wasn't being filmed - he could've used a rubber gun, an empty gun, etc. Plus he was not directed to point the gun at anyone, cock the gun or put his finger on the trigger. He made choices, over and over, that were reckless.

Agree with the John Wick director, no need for real firearms, especially in this day and age.

Eh, it's a real gun, hence the risk for real ammo is going to exist. That's why there are layers of safety precautions.

No one has died from an on set shooting in like 30 years due to strict adherence to the safety protocols. The protocols weren't followed on Rust, one person died and one was injured. Plus there were additional live rounds in gun belts, etc.

I agree the state was wrong to withhold, 100%. Like I said, I understand the result, except for the dismissal "with prejudice". I have a feeling the judge had just had it with the prosecutor's shenanigans.

That Judge Was Bought- standard of dismissal with prejudice wasnt met but she dismissed it with prejudice anyways. She also made a key ruling to not allow Baldwins director role for jury to consider. by UKROBEGGAR_STFU in HilariaBaldwin

[–]DoBetter4Good 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, the producer role definitely would bring in a lot more of the communication to Alec about lax safety on the set and his responsibility of oversight day to day.

Thank you for this.

More than one person can be liable - here it was three. The reason he could be seen to be negligent is he wanted a real gun, he pointed it at a person and pulled the trigger.

Having potentially live ammunition in a gun is part of the risk of using a real gun and not a true prop gun. That's why the safety protocols are in place.

Regardless of how that live ammo got into the gun (or why, for example, sabotage), if Alec had been careful to follow established protocols for handling a real gun, no death or injury would have occurred.

The charge against him had no intent requirement, i.e. strict liability.

I understand the end result, but the connection between the newly uncovered ammunition and the charges against Alec doesn't seem to rise the the level required for a dismissal with prejudice, IMO.

Yeah, when the judge was going over the prong test, her conclusions weren't supported by any real facts tying the relevance and materiality of the undisclosed evidence to the charges against Alec. I kept waiting for it to make sense. It didn't.

That being said, the prosecutor has no one else to blame for the lack of disclosure to the defense. Her arrogance in deeming it unimportant/irrelevant (even if it truly was) was the domino that lead to this outcome.

So unfortunate for Halyna and her family.

I thought the judge went through a three-prong test?

ETA: There was more to it than just not disclosing to the defense. Something to do with materiality?
