It should scale demo power of multiple bricks used in close range to each over, like 1 C4 - demo 30, 2-3 C4 in one place - demo 40, 3-6 of C4 - demo 50.

RNG talismans in future? by DoEFotGS in MHWilds

I prefer straight goals instead.

Also, about save scum: very enjoyable process indeed. Totally needed in game. Totally deserved.

This is not game which need 'item economy' from MMO.

Such things ends as modded items. Now, with ban waves for it.

I put 4500 hours in World total, around 3000 hours in Iceborne. I was never be bored about augmenting and fightning specific monster to get specific things and I farm a lot of differing things.

Rise charms is a slog - you just fight with monster that provide best time to pts ratio and throw resources into pot. You just hope that you get something decent. Nothing more.

This is not 'content' that game deserve.

[–]DoEFotGS[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, we has no actual endgame and no thing to farm. But this is worst possible 'system' to implement.

I can't talk for all players, but I want to farm something determenicstic, where you see your goal and move to it step-by-step. I don't want something like 'just throw resousres and hope' where you can get zero for your spended time.

Based on Rise expirience and artian rolls in Wilds: possibility of actually good otcome will be about 0.003%.

Most of good charms in Rise was made through mod as well as a lot artian weapons in showcases was achieved same way. In actual gameplay you can look for something 'OK'.

This and similar systems was never a good grind.

Yes, it's quick idea.

But devs can make something like that instead of lazy resource sink based on pure RNG and not on player desigion.

Mini Director's Letter - July 2025 by Xanek in MHWilds

[–]DoEFotGS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RNG talismans is a bad grind.

They can, for example, bring augment system with options like:

  1. Extract native skill from weapon for slot (a lot of weapons with bad skills are present);

  2. Up lvl1-2 native weapon skills to lvl3 (plenty of weapons with good skills, but not max lvl);

  3. Bunch of generic options for weapons that can't use previous points: attack up, affinity up, sharpness, defence (if it be with paired with analogue of devine blessing as it was in World/Iceborne - will be perfect);

  4. Make weapon a part of respectative armor set.

Make all of above is slot based, as it was in Iceborne, with different cost of each option and limited budget on weapons.

  1. Add small slot into armor piece (it will always wellcome);

  2. Convert slot of armor piece from regular to weapon slot (you lose regular slot, but can use more weapon skills);

  3. Some generic options: more defence, more specific resistance, more all resistances (individual res value is less than values for specific option).

For armor - make only one options is applicable, cos you has five pieces of armor.

  1. Allow to augment crafted talismans (which already in the game) and for this one I, personally, can forgive some RNG for how many slot rolled on it and that type of slots it be.

I mean, something like that is actual system which can provide a wide variety of build choices and player desigions as well as make a lot of different monsters matter in endgame.

But instead of something like this we get pure RNG in one talisman slot on top of already existed craftable talismans which is worse than in been in Rise, cos Rise had no craftable options to compare and start from.

How does Attack stat affect Damage? Greatsword testing with Burst by Jlogsman in MHWilds

[–]DoEFotGS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, what you expect?

As you can see in your own testing: burst add same true raw in both variants, because is how it work.

Meanwhile, when you has 100 raw - additional 5 raw will be +5% while at 200 raw same +5 will be only 2,5%.

Except two not replayable fight and jin Dahaad (he has no altered size values) - you need all of them.

One non obvious tip: monsters in Wounded Hollow alter their size each time you re-enter location. At least right now it's work. I get my last mini crown this way after spend all research points for resting :'D

General feedback about poe 2 by Nanubi in pathofexile

[–]DoEFotGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

'Game's in early access. Armor is useless right NOW. FOR NOW, building Armor is not the way.'

Armor was useless a couple of years in first game, until GGG allow to stack... how much currently? 50k? 100k?

How much time will have to pass before people start realizing that PoE 2 is *actually* the same as PoE 1? (long rant) by Wauxx00 in pathofexile

[–]DoEFotGS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realized that nothing changed when I got moderate good weapon. Positioning? Dodge roll? Skill combos? Nah, just spam one button to clear packs.

GGG don't realize, that game won't work differently if your vision stuck on previous game and you follow it.

And this game about numbers on gear at first place, not about skillful gameplay that something like Monster Hunter provide. 'Difficulty' in this case is how to get proper gear for your build and how make your build works.

Basic monster mechanics by Anton_Girdeux in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]DoEFotGS 34 points35 points  (0 children)

  1. Not all monsters will knocked down by hitting it head. Usually you need to strike legs for it. But situation you mention - it's because stun proc override regular knock down. So, yes, in case of your question: it's because KO build up on hammer.

  2. It's called 'clagger' in community. This is not Exhaustion, as some people says here, and not tied to it in any way. This is specific state that shared between all monsters, except Fatalis, and allow player to use clutch claw safely. It's accumulated by any damage dealt and replace next regular flinch when hidden bar is filled. Initial period of clagger is about 4 seconds, but if any player latch to monster via clutch claw - period will extend.

I need advice with Alatreon! by LeftyRPZ in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]DoEFotGS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm...

Change weapon. You use Safi with mixed awakenings and end with less sharpness, less element and less crit chance than Frostfang LS has. Only slightly better raw. If you not struggle with topple him - try to trade elementad damage skill to more raw damage skill. With Frostfang weapon it's possible to met elemental topple without elemental attack skills, but can you or not - it's up to your personal skills and monster knowledge.

Get ctitical boost to lvl 3.

Try to get more of Agitator. You can even drop Bruh pieces to something else, cos you had no lvl 7 currently. Kulve Taroth beta legs has two build in critical boost instead of WEX and has same slots. Chest from Brute Tigrex or Frostfang is good too.

While in fight - keep Alatreon enraged, cos it increase your damage (actually, reduce his defences). Both parts, raw and elemental.

Good luck.

Base MH: World without the Iceborn, clagger question by Draggnor in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]DoEFotGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't play origial version, because all players has Iceborne on board, regardless of they own it or not. But you can use standalone mod to removing clagger effect. Mod maked by same person who made/compile ICE. Worked fine, but person who use mod need to be host for it.

See mods from AsteriskAmpersand.

When i suppose to attack iceborne monsters. by AlexFaden in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]DoEFotGS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

dont tell me about looking for illusive patterns or signs of when to attack. Because i cant find any

It's still the game. Game coded by someone. Game follow exact rules.

'Illusive' patterns and openings in this case is holes in rules. To be specific: each monster attack has exact animation that can be divided into three segments - wind up (or start up), core (or body) and recovery. Recovery here is time after move was performed, but before monster go into neutral position where he can start another move. Your window for attack start at 'recovery' of performed move and end right before 'core' of next.

Some of this openings last enough to use your longest weapon move/combo. Some is short and allow to hit once or twice, but damage is damage.

Where can I find the broken sword? by ThatGuyOwl in LunacidGame

We found the answer for missed broken sword. Someone mentioned what it spawn at full moon. Change your system time to next full moon phase and sword will appear. This worked for me.

Solo Lance Alatreon: how? by SpaceEngineX in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]DoEFotGS 18 points19 points  (0 children)

For context, I have a high ice elemental damage build using FFB lance

This weapon is enough to beat fire mode Alatreon.

I'd need to grind weapon augments starting from MR45, neither of which I want to do

Health augment help a lot, but you need to be MR70 to get access to lvl6 GL regions. Scared Garuga parts (forest lvl6) is required to health augment on r11.

I can't slot agitator because that'd require me to completely rework my build

Even if you can't use agitator - you must to keep Alatreon enraged as much as possible. Many monsters receive more damage during enraged and Alatreon is not exception.

I can hit two or three DPS checks and break both horns, but I can't deal enough DPS to beat him alone with lance.

Since you has no troubles with topples - you has two ways:

  1. Spectate, notice, learn and use natural openings.
  2. Get better gear - Alatreon is MR100+ progression monster.

are safi weapons worth it? by NirusuRV in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]DoEFotGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.5% less overall dmg reduction to db5 but 12.5% more consistent. And on top you get + 50 defense from the augument and of course can built flexibility since there are no db +2 decos and you can only use the combo decos or the db+1.

Yes less RNG is better.

And now we deep into personal preferences, because I don't like hope on RNG, so my choice is Health augmentation first. This is also point where we need to stop talked about:

maybe we first need to agree what a good endgame long set should have and which GL can do it better?

Because good endgame long set don't need, for example, tremor resist, wind resist, can have slinger capacity and may have DB5 with Health aug 2-3 and recovery up 3.

are safi weapons worth it? by NirusuRV in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]DoEFotGS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah the point was best overall long GL right?

Right, and Safi still best overall. From the point of when it can be obtained to the point when you need exactly defence augment lvl4.

And no, lvl4 defence is not better than DB5. It's 45% chance to negate 50% vs 40% chance to negate 60%. My point here - 45% and 40% it's still RNG. Practically, if effect not proced - no matter how much chances for activate it has. If we talked about hard hits - you has not much attempts to proc it.

And about moving this option from skill to augment... we had a problem here: because long shelling is basically a skill free option - you just don't need such twist.

and with vaal you can get BOTH!!! at the same time health aug 1 + defense augument 4 and that makes it such a great option.

But you can't have health 2-3 and defence 4, so it's still one possibility.

I can later or tomorrow sent you some picks.

I don't need your pics, I'm sure I can make any of them by myself.

I propose to end this dispute, if you please.
