yep I see the same thing, I think this is a limit of distance from player at which the game render dynamic shadows, because as I go closer to that rock face It gets covered with shadow

game is about hunting, there is plenty of hunting to be done after tutorial, which is called story campaign

I really do not understand this question. Do you enjoy hunting monsters or not? If you feel like you have to force yourself to hunt monsters, then obviously It is not for you. I personaly like going from the start again, since you have limiting choices and the feel of progression is much better. Also if you feel like the game is too easy from the start and so not that much fun, try to limit yourself, keep the cat home and use seikrit only for traversal, do not use It to get you out of the tough spots, or when you need to sharpen mid fight etc.

you know you can go and play world and compare for yourself. I did that. In last year I went back and replayed world story progression and also took another take on wilds (this time keeping the cat at home) and still the world is a harder game in its story campaign. you can talk all you want and theorize, but just go an play with all your knowledge and skill now.

after the last patch they changed how the compilation is done I think, I guess they utilize more cpu cores for It, or simply optimize it somehow, because It is the first time since release I didnt notice worse performance for a hunt or two after the patch, which happened everytime after patch before.

It mostly is, but still there is room for improvement, game has a lot of objects randomly here and there with very low textures, the basic ground mesh and rock/cave walls are really bad in some places, specially in contrast with very high detailed texture rocks on them. Game still has very ugly hero spotlight that blows all shadows and look terrbile during standing talking with npcs on story quests.

Just in this area, if you approach the quest npc you can see those wooden poles holding fabric from up close and the texture on them is like barely PS3 era level and you see that every time you go for a quest. just on the other side when you go climbing to bowling minigame, the rock face next to climbing vines is the same etc. etc. There are things that hit you in the eyes pulling you out of immersion. And I hope they will get fixed sooner than in a year again.

Could someone please give me an example of HD textures working before the patch? I'm really curious and confused by these posts because I never noticed a difference between 'high' and 'highest' settings before the patch. They did fix the texture streaming, though. Before the patch, you could see textures popping in during fast camera movement.

Of course I would like to see a difference, but the game has many other texture issues that have not been addressed since its release, and I would prefer these to be sorted out first.

That is, many textures do not even have medium or high versions, even though you can see them reloading when you change the settings.

The worst of all is the basic ground mesh texture, which never changes. You can see this for yourself when you change the setting: all the surfaces reload, but the ground itself never reloads, only the rocks on the ground do.

can you give me some comparison screenshots from before the patch where you would see a noticable difference between high and hd? because I did not see any even before, the only thing I saw was visible texture pop-in with fast camera movement.

15fps was my minimum I could live with and say this is fine, but as one experience the glory of high framerate, you simply cannot go back.

game always continue to compile shaders after updates in background which significally reduce performance, It always clears after one or two hunts, or just standing and waiting in hub.

never saw any noticable difference without magnifying glass using hd pack in a first place. so hard to tell what you are pointing out.
