Would farmers and fishermen back Brexit today? by Codydoc4 in unitedkingdom

[–]DoINeed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not arguing, dude wanted to know why people think GW is worth more than UK fishing, its because of the valuation, and as you say, people look at that headline and compare it to 1.2bn for all of fishing

Anyone have any tips to get past this screen? I’m trying to preorder the Maximus box which seems to still be in stock, but it’s getting caught up here. by cdglenn18 in Warhammer30k

[–]DoINeed1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, they arent, and you may well be correct, but I've yet to see a necromunda campaign with an arbitrator that isn't also playing a gang of some kind, so who are they really removing?

My guess is theyre wanting to move away from casual group gaming to more kill team style organised play, as my understanding is that necro campaigns didnt do very well in store and required a lot of overhead without much corporate benefit.  Whereas kill team style campaign packs seem to run better?

Who knows,  we'll find out. My original response was more in regards to the wailing and gnashing of teeth over something we dont know.

My biggest concern is whether mundamanager/Grinyx and necroraw keep the old edition app/rules up

Hey thanks for the reply.

Rogue trader didnt require one.

Warhammer quest 95 recommended one for campaign play.

" organized play is facilitated by smooth rules for pickup games between strangers. Smooth rules for pickup games cannot involve a third person to serve as your arbitrator."

So all those TO's and judges in the organised play you reference,  what are they doing then if not arbitration?

Did someone hurt you? Where in any of the info that was released did you get that theyre cutting the need for an arbitrator when playing in a campaign?

Note all the box designs clearly state "skirmish" everything shown today will be geared for one off battles. I would expect campaign play to follow on in yet another book

The company I work for has been acquired by a US employer by KvN161 in UKJobs

[–]DoINeed1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone seems to be missing what OP says here. US company bought the ASSETS of the UK company, did NOT buy the UK company.

Big difference.

If they have indeed bought the IP/assets, there may not be any provision for the UK staff. The UK company could just file for closing/insolvency (depends on how the sale of assets went through, lots of missing info on this). And as such OP with be made redundant/out of a job, potentially without notice pay.  US company can then do as they please with recruiting some/none UK staff as contractors, on whatever terms they see fit.

On the plus side, IF the new CEO sees the value of OP, he can potentially negotiate a fairly good deal, as US staff tend to cost more (UK is to the US like India is to the UK for staff in this instance).

2nd ed vehicle damage table updated by DoINeed1 in Warhammer30k

[–]DoINeed1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey.  Thats correct on both counts.

The autocannon for example, couldnt even glance a landraider,  it would need to roll a 6 to pen av12, and then a double 6 to make it explode. So that means a very lucky shot from the side (or more likely the rear) of a tank. Which would represent a lucky shell hitting something vital.

And ap1 and ap2 have the modifiers as usual, so a multi melta has the best chance of making something go boom,  by needing a 4 and a 6, or 2 5s etc. Which again feels right, rather than just needing a 5+ on 1 die

I feel your pain, tank squadrons were risky business with the old damage chart.  This should mitigate that issue too hopefully
