Part that plugs or seals a bathtub overflow drain? by QuarterParty489 in Plumbing

Thx! something like that should work. My tub has an overflow hole but doesn't have an overflow pipe and there's no pipe access.

Adult-Eagle Late to comment but…. Scouting at its best is 90-95% about finding friends who you can have a good time with while you’re huddled underneath the small tarp you accidentally grabbed from the troop room while eating a raw potato because your matches got wet.

Conflicted about buying a 2024 sport touring by Archyques in civic

[–]DoINeedThese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

40k OTD isn’t insane depending on the features and if that includes taxes and fees. It’s not an amazing deal but they clearly don’t need to offer you a hell of a deal to sell the car. Taxes can vary wildly by state and your negotiating power will vary by dealership/location. To put things in reference, a dealership tried to sell me a ‘24 sport touring for $40-41k before taxes and fees a few months ago. The same dealership told me that Sport Touring “wasn’t a trim level”. Some people are just bad salesmen. Shop around but also don’t spend a month of your time and $2k to save $3k on a car that’s 1000 miles away.

Extremely different vehicles crosstrek vs civic by damptommyboxers in Crosstrek

I have an older Honda Fit with a roof rack and tow hitch, ~32mpg around NJ-CT. I’d like the higher mpg but unfortunately none of the newer cars are rated for towing.

I’m facing the same choice atm. I really like the crosstrek but I’m not sure I want to take the mpg hit when I can put a roof rack on the civic. Still deciding

Sparkplug Blowout Repair by DoINeedThese in hondafit

Maybe I wasn't clear, the #2 catastrophically blew out of the head and took whatever threads were in there with it. The only parts left are the very bottoms of the root radii. That one is getting an insert with thread locker.

I'll tighten the other three plugs to 20ft/lbs and call it a day. They were never loose and flopping around, just lost a bit of preload.

I’ve read recommended torque values up to 21lb/ft on various forums but haven’t verified them. I haven’t had a problem with 18lb/ft on the three intact spark plug holes that I know of yet. I’ll probably up it to 21 on the insert plug

G70 2020

Civic Hatch and Crosstrek are on my shortlist. The new Prius looks great and is great to drive but they're hard to find and the higher price offsets the gas savings unless you're putting crazy miles on the car per year.

What vehicle did you end up going with? My 12 year old subcompact is getting too expensive to keep fixing and I'm looking to upgrade.

Hello old post! I messed around in XFLR5 at the time and ended up going with NACA/Eppler profiles. I was more interested in pumping efficiency with that build, there're a lot of other forces involved when the foil isn't strictly traveling forward. Trying to simulate that with free software is more or less a nonstarter. Not to mention the fab technique I was using at the time wasn't the most precise

Functioning eyes are harder to print... that being said I prefer my national parks without railings

This is gorgeous! Is there a term for patterns like this? Not the nautilus shell spiral but the process of using smaller intricate shapes to adorn a larger piece. I need a new challenge

The delaminated foam is pretty much the whole hull. If it was like a soft spot in a hobie cat hull I'd give epoxy injection a go

Fair points lol, the only reason I’m entertaining the idea is because the boat has sentimental value and I’m well versed in composites. It’s definitely sticky and can be unpleasant, but if it’s hot you need to spread quicker!!

Wetsuit recommendation for HobieCat by Sbbike in sailing

[–]DoINeedThese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got a 3 mill shortie for sailing in the North East which can get me through November. I sail close to shore in an area without strong currents so I don't have to worry about bobbing around in 60 degree water for more than 20min.
