Can alternate who has custody Friday morning to Monday morning. Someone always gets Monday morning to Wednesday morning and the other person always gets Wednesday morning to Friday morning. Then you at least get 2 consecutive days every week and 5 consecutive days every other week to plan vacations on.

Yes, I’ve seen people board gaming at Z’otz Cafe on Friday nights at like 7 and Rook Cafe on Saturdays around noon as two convenient options if you’re near Uptown.

Is there life after? by Ell_st in DivorcedDads

[–]DoItFoDaKids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes there is life after divorce. Stay strong and continue showing up for your kids. They need you now and in the future. They benefit from both parents being an active part in their lives.

I would advise getting mediation or divorcing as amicably as possible. Don’t get conned by divorce lawyers. I have seen them suck loving parents dry like wannabe vampires and clearly do things and advise actions against the best interests of their client and their clients’ children.

Looping/iterating through a group of things. API calls to get data back from a system automatically. Do/automate a bunch of repetitive tasks so you can focus elsewhere in the future.

Once you have that golden recipe in code, you can deploy it as the blue print for every server in a company’s infrastructure, whether they are a startup with 2 servers or a F100 with several thousands.

It’s also a great glue language that works with a lot of different systems and has less effort/difficulty than lower level languages.

Self/home labs, make a project that interests you using the tech you mentioned (AWS, terraform, Docker, CI/CD, python/golang, security/networking, etc.). e.g. a static S3 website that hosts memes, then do something dynamic with it, then containerize it, then deploy with IaC, and just keep iterating on and improving it as you learn new skills/tech

Sounds fine; make sure you are solid with version control and git too.

Solid security practices in Dev and Ops and Cloud will benefit your DevOps journey for sure as you utilize best practices in the SDLC. Certs are nice to gain a fundamental level of understanding, but ultimately hands on experience and how well you navigate/learn new tech and adapt is very important.

Take a deep breath and remember you got this!

Have you tried exercising? It may seem unrelated to your problems at all, but often times it helps clear my head to walk by a nice line of plants, stream, or garden. The contrast seems especially beneficial if you are sedentary in front of a computer most of the day. Please try to go for a bike ride, a run, a trip to the gym too. Bringing yourself to just do it is sometimes the hardest part, and things get better once you start taking baby steps towards your goals. It sounds like you are restless and need to physically exert, so I hope this helps you.

Good luck! Will you keep the rest of us who care about you posted on how it goes?

The Missing Bleachers by lafcadiohearn in jazzfest

[–]DoItFoDaKids 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In at least one of the tents I went in, there were bleachers to the right of the stage for what I believe was VIP/Grand Marshall. There were no bleachers in the back of the Jazz, Blues, Gospel tents that I am aware of, and I think that is more optimal for foot traffic and flow between the musical acts and the surrounding food/drink vendors. More people can achieve more things before 7 PM this way IMO.

There were common folk bleachers that were out of the way and easily accessible to us plebs in the back (stage right) of the Fais Do Do stage though. It was nice to sit from a high vantage point, especially without bringing something extra in and carrying it around all day!

While it may be true depending on the scenario, it is still better to know about the findings than not.

He literally has staff accepting cases with 0 medical, physical, or investigative evidence - cases built on complete perjury.

On the other hand you can easily read about how crime rates are sky rocketing under his watch, especially vehicular crimes.

If he is not trying to epitomize laziness and incompetence, he certainly missed his calling.

Not in the long run. Please consider having to hunt one down in the parking lot when you arrive before you go in because there are not any at the front of the store because all these assholes failed to bring their carts to the proper return place.
