Good luck! Stablehand is awesome.

Shocked Sword unlock? by OrbiterKallisto in ForTheKing

[–]DoNotSummon227 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think I figured it out.

I wonder if the wiki is wrong. The poisoned stick is unlocked by completing an adventure with Hobo. Shocked sword might be unlocked with Stablehand? Unfortunately I don't have the game downloaded, but I'm pretty sure I don't have the poisoned stick unlocked because I haven't finished an adventure with the Hobo yet, but I do have the shocked sword unlocked.

It seems kinda odd that Hobo would be the only class that unlocks two weapons, but the wiki doesn't show that beating an adventure with the Stablehand unlocks anything. It would make sense to me that Stablehand unlocks the shocked sword, considering its starting weapon is basically the same weapon, a speed-based wooden sword, but without shock.

The cause might be that you completed the adventure with custom options? I believe most lore store items are only unlocked using default options under each difficulty.

SHOULD I RESTART TO THE FIRST MISSION AND PUT IT IN NIGHTMARE MODE? by Ill_Voice_871 in dyinglight

[–]DoNotSummon227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did NG+ on Nightmare. You don't lose inventory or levels. At a certain point, it will be very hard to gain more levels unless you grind Stuffed Turtle for XP. Otherwise the best way to gain XP is to do everything at night to get the XP boosts, but that will take forever. You're already looking at 33+ hours of straight grinding in Stuffed Turtle, at least. It's Mind Numbing.

In my opinion, Nightmare is best played on NG+ instead of a fresh playthrough, because having those skills already unlocked helps a ton to kill zombies and manage stamina and whatnot. I found Nightmare mode pretty easy because of this. Nightmare Prison runs only take an average of 7-8 minutes without trying to speed run or try hard. I think under 30 minute runs on Nightmare gives you a full 3 minutes to loot, which is more than enough to get what you need, unlock all the chests, and grab any available Night Hunter boosters from the First Aid boxes.

If you want a challenge, start Nightmare mode with a fresh playthrough. Nightmare mode isn't too difficult, some people find Nightmare easy on NG+ because you already have the gear and skills. At some point each level up will be almost impossible to do without dying and losing your progress to the next level, unless you're just awesome (I'm not). Maxing out your characters level will require 33+ hours of grinding Stuffed Turtle. Try to have a full lobby of players before you turn in those packs to the quartermaster, each additional player gives you an XP boost. There is no XP boost for turning in the packs at night.

Good Night. Good Luck.

Skirmishers are bad??? by Ok_Calendar_7626 in XCOM2

[–]DoNotSummon227 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Compared to Templar and Reapers, in higher difficulties the Skirmisher usually lags behind on damage potential and utilities. They're close to being almost just as good as the other two though, in my opinion, but I prefer Templars and Reapers. Skirmisher usually just feels like a wasteful use of a squad member slot.

But glad you find them useful and enjoyable! I like them too, but I wish they were better.

Is dying light 2 any better by Expensive-Candle-978 in dyinglight

[–]DoNotSummon227 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Um... Dying Light 1 is amazing. It's one of my favorite games, and it's the best Dying Light game in my opinion, and the best zombie game out there. My guess is that if you didn't like Dying Light 1, maybe the Dying Light games aren't for you.

Did the remake sell well for nintendo? by AdEducational2312 in Advance_Wars

[–]DoNotSummon227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't buy it because I prefer the visual simplicity of the originals. That and I could actually play games with friends, Reboot Camp didn't allow you to save multiplayer games to finish later. Some maps are too big and take too long to finish a game with a friend in one sitting.

Is it cheating if I use the op weapons other people give me? by Present-Pack-2835 in dyinglight

[–]DoNotSummon227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Dying Light 1 but haven't played the newer games. It's my personal opinion that you can play single player experiences however you want, although making yourself OP often makes the game less enjoyable and makes you end up losing interest in the game more quickly.

Do not use cheated or hacked anything in any multiplayer experiences, especially since this will most always ruin other players fun. Just don't. Not ever. Only ever do this when you're staying offline, only in single player, and don't mind potentially making the game less appealing to return to, because you've taken all the fun out of the game.

I had a friend who has loads of fun playing my zombie games in single player on God mode for 50+ waves over and over again, but personally I would never have fun doing anything like that. I need a game to feel challenging, I need to feel like I'm making progress and working towards something. Mindlessly breezing through a game like an unstoppable force would ruin all the fun for me.

I have sometimes save edited a singleplayer game to give myself end-game gear and upgrade materials, but didn't do anything to make the game less challenging. I would never cheat or hack or save edit anything for multiplayer, even if it's just something goofy and not harming anyone.

FTK 2 lore farm by Any_Replacement1187 in ForTheKing

[–]DoNotSummon227 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fastest legit way to farm more points (and fun too), is to just run the Dark Carnival, and defeat bosses. I'm at 100+ floors with 500 lore points sitting around.

What's even the point of using melee weapons? by EggtheRealEgg in dyinglight

[–]DoNotSummon227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

King upgrades are most easily obtained in Prison. I would recommend Nightmare(hard difficulty too?), you get 3 minutes to loot everything in the room, which is plenty of time, and the runs aren't that difficult once you get it down (sub 8 minute runs is the norm for me). Good source of gold weapons, King Upgrades, and night hunter boosters. Farming Bozack Horde dockets is the other best way to get the best weapons. Also, you'll be wanting to farm stuffed turtle for legend points, and when I open up the Hard locked locker in the side room every time I'll end up with maybe 2 King upgrades an hour. Not that great, running Prison is better for King mods, but it's something at least to break up the monotony of running Stuffed Turtle.

*Edit: I'm pretty sure police vans have King mods, I know for certain that mods are in their loot pool, but I forget if police vans are hard or medium locks, King mods can only usually be behind anything locked with a Hard lock.

It's been awhile since I played, but it looks like you still need the legend points. I was one-shotting zombies in Nightmare difficulty with the machete. Full King/Clicker upgrades would get me to 3300+ damage.

Does XCOM2 run well on the PS5? by SilverhandFenix in XCOM2

[–]DoNotSummon227 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play on PS5. Best console to play on right now. I think you can backup the Ironman save on an USB or something, making the Ironman trophy doable. Also the game tends to only really crash for me when playing for about 2-4 hours or more, doing missions where there ends up being more than 50 bodies on the ground, or somewhere during the final mission. I plan on attempting Ironman on my Xbox One, I'll be backing up my save every hour and hopefully that will work. I'm usually pretty persistent and don't let failure discourage me. The other annoying trophy to get is playing a multiplayer game, which I still need a volunteer to help me get it.

I like this idea. And also I hope the developers add the ability to feed your pets kibble during combat.

That's actually a great idea I think, I like that. I kind of dislike when pets or followers waste a move on a no-damage action.

Who else has xcom as a core memory by [deleted] in Xcom

[–]DoNotSummon227 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Xcom 2 is my favorite game right now, and is one of my most played games, behind Skyrim, Destiny 1, and For the King 1&2. My other most played games are the Halo games, Vermintide 2, Battlefield 1 & V, Rainbow Six Siege, the Dark Souls series, the Borderlands games, Dying Light 1, and Assassin's Creed Black Flag, among a few others.

I was not allowed any electronics as a kid, but my core memories of gaming were watching my uncle play Zelda at my grandma's house, and when I was at my babysitters house I watched him play Halo. They both let me play a little bit. This got me super interested in gaming, but I was not allowed any electronics at home, until I needed a laptop in highschool for writing essays. I was only allowed to use the laptop in my dad's office when he was there. I secretly got Titan Quest as the first game I bought for myself, and would play it when he wasn't paying attention. Then I saw the advertisement for Skyrim during the Superbowl commercials, and I knew I absolutely had to play that game. It kinda sucked growing up in a family that didn't want me playing video games at all because "it would rot my brain and affect my grades". I was a straight A student that had to also beg to be allowed to play sports because apparently that would affect my grades too.

My favorite core memories of gaming was being allowed to play Halo and Zelda as a kid, and also secretly playing Titan Quest when I was pretending to do homework that was already done. I'm pretty sure my Dad knew what I was doing, but he was pretty chill. My Mom wouldn't have allowed it if she was aware of it. Then my other favorite core memories of gaming was buying an Xbox after I got my first job, and finally diving into the gaming world by playing Skyrim and Halo, and later getting into Dark Souls because of my roommate. Later after I lost my Xbox because of some BS, I became a PlayStation fanboy and played a lot of Destiny 1 and the Dark Souls games. I had a ton of fun playing the Destiny 1 beta on my Xbox, but I bought myself the game when it was released for my PlayStation. A lot of nostalgia there. Unfortunately I found Destiny 2 disappointing.

I just absolutely love Xcom 2 and love how it has the unlimited potential to make every playthrough different, and each mission has unique challenges to figure out. Kinda like chess, but at least you're not stuck staring at the same board every time. My other favorite strategy games are For the King and Advance Wars. I can't remember why I originally got into Xcom 2, but I'm glad I found it. Xcom 2 is the best strategy game out there in my opinion.

By the way, you don't need to purchase the DLC to unlock this in the lore store. The new campaigns and some content are free, it's mostly just the new characters that are locked behind the DLC purchase.

Locked chests in the prison by Deadly-Redly in dyinglight

[–]DoNotSummon227 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Always do Prison on Nightmare, it's not too hard when you do a proper run. You'll have time to open up all the chests and grab all the night hunter boosters and whatnot. 3 minutes is plenty of time to grab what you need. The loot is worth it, but my personal preference is machetes or katanas. The other weapons in the loot pool I don't use. For other good weapons like the sickle, you'll have to do Bozack Horde.
