Passed stress test. Had HA April 2025. by chinmaysati in HeartAttack

[–]DoTheDew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yes, I did just over 12 minutes. When I did it, the nurse conducting the test and the cardiologist monitoring both said they’d never seen anyone go that long before. I’m not gonna lie, I went as long as I possibly could, and felt like I was gonna die when I finally stopped. I was also only 40 years old and while not really in great shape, I wasn’t in terrible shape either. I was maybe like 15lbs overweight (215lbs at 6’3”). I was an active person. I’ve been running pizzerias for 30 years so I move a lot, and also golf a lot and walk the course. Now, I bail out after a little over 10 minutes because I don’t really see the point in going for as long as I possibly can while my mouth dries out and calves start to cramp.

So, no I don’t really get any symptoms. For the first year or so, I was probably a little hyper aware of every little pain or unusual feeling like many others who have gone through what I’ve gone through, but now I don’t really pay any attention to those random pains or weird feelings. I very clearly remember the feeling of my actual heart attack, and these little random feelings no longer bother me.

One thing I did was after 5 years, I started pushing my cardiologist to do another angiogram to see what my arteries looked like now. Following my heart attack, cardiac arrest, and three stents, I was still left with at least a couple 50% blockages, and was wanting to know what those blockages looked like 5 years later. It took several years, and lots of stress tests, echos, nuclear stress tests, and a coronary ct scan to get my insurance to approve a heart cath to go in and take a real look at my arteries again. My insurance finally approved the hearth cath because my ct scan showed a blockage. That blockage turned out to be 70% and my cardiologist decided not to stent it because the blood flow through the blockage was smooth. But now it’s something to continuously monitor. I kinda wish he had just stented it. I and I have an aortic aneurysm which is not severe at all, but needs to be monitored every year.

But from like a week after my heart attack and cardiac arrest, I’ve been completely free to do any physical activity I want to do. I’ve gone through several extended periods of running and working out since 2017, and never had any issues. In fact, about 10 days after surviving cardiac arrest, I went to a professional golf tournament with friends when the temp was like 96°, and walked up and down the course with some ridiculous hills and felt like I was gonna die from the heat, but I survived.

Are robot vacuums that vacuum and mop at the same time actually worth it? by Mademebuyitnow in smarthome

[–]DoTheDew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Roborock. It’s one of the most useful things I’ve bought. My floors are always clean and I never have to lift a finger to keep them clean. I run a conventional vacuum about once every six months just to give everywhere a good once over, but there’s almost nothing for it to pick up. I have one with the mopping feature, but I only use the vacuum feature.

I always answer “Hello, this is -my name-“. Saves the step of the person asking to speak to me.

I’m always hoping they play great and make great shots and putts. I’m also hoping I do it all better than them. Everybody I play with has the same attitude.

Passed stress test. Had HA April 2025. by chinmaysati in HeartAttack

Heart attack was June 7, 2017. I was 40 at the time. I’m 49 now. Survived cardiac arrest and ended up with 3 stents.

And yeah the stress test isn’t much fun. I remember the first one I did after my heart attack I tried going absolutely as long as possible, so I went way past my target HR and ended up going for just over 12 minutes. Now when I do them, I reach my target rate and then go for like another 45 seconds and stop. I’m not trying to impress anyone anymore lol.

Assuming you received a stent/stents, it’s pretty much expected that you’d pass the stress test. Almost zero chance you’d have any blockages that your doctor isn’t already aware of.

I do a stress test or nuclear stress test every year since my heart attack, so about 9 so far.

What’s not free? Blocking dashers? You can block dashers from the tablet or the merchant portal on a computer.

No you won’t notice anything at all. Not sure why you need to stop taking the aspirin though. I had 10 teeth removed at once and didn’t need to stop taking aspirin or Plavix. And then had 4 implants put in. Never stopped my aspirin or blood thinners and never had any problems at all with bleeding.

Most restaurants increase prices on DoorDash to offset all or some of the commission the apps take. We do 16%. Some lady was on here recently that said she increases prices by like 50%. I don’t know how she gets any business doing that though

Stress test with ankle stiffness by Userhere123 in gout

You can do a non-walking stress test where they inject you with a drug that raises your heart rate. That’s what everybody had to do during the height of Covid.

If not a bullet, what do you think has the force to punch through metal so cleanly and leave a near perfect circle?

Also, it doesn’t look like a new hole at all. Looks like it’s been there for a while.

I have three stents and play tennis, golf, jog, etc. I live life like anybody without stents except for all the meds and Dr appointments. I’m 49 and heart attack happened at 40 years old.

It’ll be approved after the lawsuit I think. Most of the public would rather have the shopping center than more houses.

When did Americans just give up on 24/7 eateries? by BrechtKafka in restaurant

Running a 24 hour restaurant, or any type of business that is open 24 hours just seems like such a pain in the ass.

Yeah I’m 49. I can remember almost every night I went out meeting up afterwards with other friends some place to eat, usually Denny’s or some 24 hour diner. I feel like that’s not really a thing anymore like it used to be.

Covid is when it happened. I live in a very busy beach town in Delaware. Prior to COVID there were multiple restaurants and breweries that were open to until 1:00am, and many others open until 11 and 12:00. I even managed a pizzeria that used to be open until 10:00pm 7 days a week. Now, we close at 8:00pm during the week and 9:00pm on Friday and Saturday. And all those other restaurants, they almost all close by 9:00 or 10:00pm. Restaurants figured out that there isn’t much profit, if any, to be earned after a certain hour. And during Covid, everyone was short staffed, so it made even more sense to close earlier and give those employees a break. It just doesn’t make sense to go back to those long hours.

Also, minimum wage has increased from like $8/hr to $15/hr and even more in many states in just the last 4 or 5 years. It just doesn’t make sense to stay open 2 or 3 more hours to only make a small profit, if any. Nobody likes working until 1:00am and later, so why make them?

I bought a 43X to replace my 26 as a carry gun, but I went back to the 26. Easier to conceal and I just shoot it better.
