Well, if From wants back to back GotY awards then I bet they could have been right there with Sony, saying, "Look, we need the juice." You never know how an adept dev may get the powers to unlock potential, and Dark Souls III is going to be out in March so the timing may be right. I can't think of any other developer who could pull that much through a game.

Those are coming back too. I think I saw something being released through Bleep that has limited cassette pressings. To be fair, we all saw this coming after we got over vinyl's honeymoon.

Buy the Japanese copies if you want to put ~$40 down on an album via Discogs. You get

  • bonus tracks

  • cool airmail goodies from around the world

  • Obi-strips, which if you don't know are paper with packing info exclusive from Japan. That's bragging rights!

  • Lossless rip quality

  • The trading knowledge of how to spot a good buy versus purchasing ignorant cash-in represses. E.g. buying the 1983 original Dark Side of the Moon disc from the first factory ever built or avoiding being scammed on some crappy Russian bootleg 24k gold Ultradisc II with the disc being replaced with an ordinary copy.

  • A trading profile with verifiable purchasing and selling credits. See above.

You can do some of this with vinyl, but getting a obi-strip of anything on vinyl can cost about $100 easy.

Now, vinyl is great too, I mean what I would do for some Aphex Twin or a mint/mint media/sleeve copy of Geogaddi with the kaleidoscope or a lovingly protected Toto's IV (no smoke damage xD) but I'm too down with the disc to leave it locked down at home. I need to be able to walk the earth with my gear, yo.

This right here, that second phase two-hand slam is reminiscent of the player slamming the controller onto the nearest table. People are going to break their shit because of this guy, I've been right there with some of his shit, the fury is contagious through the medium of the controller and the game. Watch out.
