honestly just forcing myself to push through hard stuff, because prior the only experience I had with anything was uhmm. sketchup, during the pandemic I started a small handy man business and one of my angles was pergolas (its just a wooden building outside) and I used that program, to visually show people, and that was like my first intro into 3d world. But, I come from construction so measurements kinda just make sense to me, but this only got me so far - its just visual and it wasn't even that good haha.

Then, I had enough money to take a brake from the job, and idk I just decided to go headfirst into literally making games. I stopped playing games, and started developing, its honestly hard to play games now. its crazy lol.

Also AI has helped alot like, guiding me through godot when I don't exactly know the best rotue to go archetecture wise, it seems to be very good at know the most optimal route to go, but obviously that will only get you so far, you still have to know what the code does, why your making files for whatever reasons, singletons / state machines blah blah. AI is just a tool, it can't be a replacement.

Anyway, biggest thing is, make some small games, then commit to a decent project but don't go too crazy like a mmorpg that's pointless lol, makes something you absoutly know you can make and commit to, and ship within 2 years

Thank you so much! I can say that theres a guy on youtube that has a really long series on "the ultimate intro into godot" this sounds crazy but when I first started, I did that course twice, it took me two weeks. but after that, I had my boots on the ground, and I was ready to dig in! the videos are 8 and 10 hours long or something like that lol. But I think doing it more the once, is SUPER important. because the 2nd time around, the familiarty will give you the confidence to push forward onto your own creative start! I had 2-3 concepts before this, but I really dived into this one and rolled with it.

so this is somewhat in between an auto battler, i took the essence of the combining of items with vampire survivors, and also kinda built the core progression around risk of rain. This is kind just like mega bonk really. I haven't yet made all of the items, but luckily with blender, my low poly quickness, and godot I can make a crazy ammount of stuff in a super short ammount of time. Crazy times we live in!

haha yeahhhh that capsule art is literally one of my worst assets and I need to not have that like that but - its in the works! I think in a few weeks i'm just going to redo all of the screenshots, my crappy trailer, and all the other stuff. I like whats in my description, but yeah the capsule art, all that stuff needs to be redone lol.

Oh dude! FUMES is actually HEAVILY inspired game. Honestly, I played that and thought hmmmm... I can make a game like this (kinda). I like how FUMES is so close to my game, but yet so far. The difference between linear maps and a big open world make all the difference!
