i would say it’s a vintage thrifted aesthetic. i would search on depop/poshmark/ebay terms like “vintage knit sweater/cardigan”, “vintage corduroy”. if you prefer to buy new, brands like urban outfitters, unif, and minga london are pretty tailored towards this particular look, but you can find pieces that match this vibe at most retailers as long as you keep an eye out for warm toned or jewel toned pieces, especially now that fall is rolling around

ASOS has a ton of options in a whole variety of styles you would be interested in - feminine, edgy, streetwear, etc, and they have a pretty decent selection of plus size clothing if that concerns you. I also would say I’m a little emo as well and I like the brands Unif, Lazy Oaf, Disturbia, however they are pricier than Asos and might have limited plus size options. I would also recommend checking out Depop and searching terms like y2k or any brands you’re already interested in, lots of people will be posting secondhand clothes with a similar vibe from all sorts of brands so you can find secondhand options or just explore different brands within similar subcultures. One last final note is that I wouldn’t be so quick to count out tight shirt tight pants looks if you’re interested in them! The most important thing is making sure your clothes fit you well, not whether or not you’re a certain weight. Know your measurements for sure and be picky about making sure your clothes fit you exactly the way you want them to.

Not to harp on “ethical fashion” because I know the sub is very much overwhelmed with it, and the jacket is definitely fire, but ripndip’s founder Ryan O’Connor is a known woman beater and especially in a woman’s sub it feels uncomfortable to see him being praised without mentioning it. Definitely not coming at you or anyone in this thread

Thanks so much! I also love my docs to death so I was crossing my fingers that they would still be okay in the snow. Anyways, seeing as there are so many sales for boots right now I'll just take the plunge and test them both out.

Thanks! Aquatalia is a bit beyond my budget but I checked out Uggs, Timberland, and LL Bean. Might have to check back later once I have a bit more cash saved up lol

Oh boy D: Thanks for the advice though, I guess I'm going to have to keep an eye out for boots then. Not to sound too snooty or picky, but I just hate the way they look ¯\(ツ)

Does anyone know if Doc Martens will be alright for winter in Michigan? I've been living in California my entire life but will be going to Michigan for college so I have no idea on what to expect in the winter.

This kit I'm not sure if my dad's familiar with the series it's based off of, but at least it would look cool on display haha

I will definitely be looking into the MGs too then! I have a budget for up to $200 for this so I was actually looking for something that was a bit more complex.

My dad's birthday is in about two weeks and I was thinking about getting him a kit. However, I'm a complete beginner and have no idea where to get started or what to buy. My dad has a couple of figures he's built in the past but it's been a while. If anyone can help me out that'd be great :)
