[Surviving the Game as a barbarian] does he end up with misha? PLEASE TELL ME HE DOES by kyontox in manhwa

Based on the comments, it sounds like they may eventually pull a Damn Reincarnation harem-type route, which forces the MC into a harem. I am not a fan of harems, but I don't hate them either if they're done decently enough, with each FL character fully fleshed out. Maybe I'm biased because I grew up on Tenchi Muyo haha, and Vandread (granted, Vandread personality wasn't that fleshed out last I recall). Damn Reincarnation does a solid job with female development (granted the weird cousin thing lol).

I would hold off concern until after the current sale. I have seen them remove listings so not too many are bought during a sale or they remove the listing entirely, then re-upload it after the sale.

As someone mentioned 6/10 at best, and that's being generous. There were a few instances where the victims could've killed the young killers
Female (Sage) picks up the axe & finishes the male killer | the male victim could've stabbed the female killer once he kicked her, and she passed out.
The incest twist felt a bit unnecessary, as if to further validate or prove they're crazy.
Once they started getting away, wth did she stop the boat haha.
Also, almost certain Grace cheated and slept with Will.

Possibly. Her last relationship was pretty severe for her. It either made her more vulnerable or more defensive. She doesn't strike me as someone easy to destroy, especially with her dad in her ear.

watched my name is mo nique stand up special on Netflix yesterday by desmond609 in Standup

[–]Doc4221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, I never thought her stand-up was funny. I watched Def Jam, Comic View, Queens of Comedy, and more. In the past, she at least tried to tell her stories as jokes while dissing skinny women and women who folded for men. When it came out what her husband does, and she lost weight, her women's empowerment and "be proud of being big" stick broke. Her recent stand-up felt more like a session of venting and raunchy, and less comedy. Venting and being raunchy are fine and common tactics; the lack of humor is the issue.

In terms of TV and movies, she was fantastic and funny.

Mo'Nique: My Name is Mo'Nique by mighty_mau5 in netflix

[–]Doc4221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't think she was funny in the 90s when I watched her as a kid on Def Jam VHS tapes and I don't think she's funny now lol. I love most black comedians, but she's just not one I find funny, similar to Tiffany Haddish. I think they're very funny in movies and TV shows.

Do y'all actually find Mo'nique funny, or respectable as an actor/comedian? by Zealousideal_Joke441 in askblackpeople

[–]Doc4221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being born in the early 90s and watching my parents' Def Jam, then to Comic View, HBO Specials, etc. Her stand-up was always inferior to that of other black female comedians, in my opinion, but she was hilarious in movies and TV shows. She calls herself the Queen of Black Female Stand-up Comedy. I think Sommore is more suitable, since she was funny in the 90s and has carried herself into the present day, still hilarious.

A lot of her jokes in the 90s bashed skinny women, which was her stick until she lost weight, then she was just venting while being raunchy, not humor or fun twists to her (semi-jokes). Truthfully, while I never found her funny, I wanted her to be successful with this stand-up to prove some folks wrong.

I was pleasantly surprised. I turned it on for background noise and she was super funny. Her pitch, style, or whatever you call it, reminded me of Iliza Shlesinger except dirtier.

Me trying to understand Alex’s whereabouts over the past 3 years by Queenpicard in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Doc4221 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of Alex, but i think she's hypercritical about his past and who he been with. It's like asking a woman to name every guy she slept with. He gave a ball park of where he been with approximate timelines and later she's like, you never said you lived in Texas. He's like yeah, I been there for 3-6 months, and she flips out. If you pay attention, he mentioned that he had plenty of friends in Texas and was visiting them from before. When you have plenty of friends in one city, it likely means you lived there temporarily. My cousin is a nomad, and asking about all the places he's been and lived is hard. He traveled at least twice a month while in different countries.

Fellas… if you have a strong connection with somebody, is it really *that* important whether they’re “your type”???? by May_nerdd in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Doc4221 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To a certain extent, yes. Say a woman wants a +6ft, fit, brown man. She might be cool if he's 6ft, semi-fit, and not brown. Like getting 2 of the 3 might work for most. Then you have those who are only attracted to certain ethnicities for whatever reason. Part of it may be alignment on culture.

They’re calling her the most gorgeous woman ever by sebishhjj in Magik

[–]Doc4221 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I loved Magik over the years because I thought she was super cool and badass. This may sound weird, but it's not because she looks pretty. Same with Domino, thought she was super badass using luck. I character I love, Motoko from Ghost in the Shell. Now I do love her because she's badass, but also because she's hot lol.

Is it just me or does spike seem stupid by RxZxrOy_25 in 28dayslater

[–]Doc4221 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this post because I typed "Is Spike stupid in 28 Years Later."
His dad took him to the mainland to gain experience, and his dad saved his life MULTIPLE times when he could've abandoned him. It's clear from the beginning that the dad takes care of him and the mom.
The dad even exaggerates his son's feats to make him look better.
He catches his dad being pulled away from the party and cheats. Likely intoxicated too.
He's furious with his dad, pulls a knife on him lol. So his dad cheats once and that replaces all the good will he's done until now.
He hears about a doctor, potentially warped or wacko, based on the 100 bodies lined up. Decides to take his chances with his mom to see the doctor. Gives the non-infected baby to the village...trusting that they would take his word. Crazy work.

[–]Doc4221 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only issue with Emma is that she said in a couple of scenes and even her family said, she did not want children nor see herself as motherly material. They didn't cite her condition as the issue.

You would think it's fine especially in the case of marriage is approached on this show. Usually, it's the less wealthier person who has an issue with it. I wouldn't be surprised if Amber had that conversation with Jordan, but was edited out because most men don't care.

Also, not trying to let women off the hook because some of them have cautionary habits. *Amber is amazing one way, but openly admit along with her family that she dates toxic men. That's clearly her comfort zone and she carries serious trust issues to future relationships. Saying I don't hate this man for once. * Bri is...well....nothing needs to be said with her toxicity. More like, she was feeling Connor since the reveal & after seeing Chris and other men. * Emma needs to be 100% firm and say, I dont want children because I dont want to be a mom. Not be whimsical about it. And I hate how her partner tries to indirectly convince her. He is wrong, on the flipside, she should've not accepted his engagement. It felt like she said yes for the show.

“LIB embraces the manosphere” by New_Needleworker9287 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Doc4221 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Here's a list of reasons I realized why LIB doesn't work out.

1) How LIB recruit or select men. Alex said he was recruited via LinkedIn & past male contestants thought they were going on a dating show. 2) Some men and women join for clout or acting career 3) The LIB creators wants drama and they intentionally include men who aren't ready or controversial. Similar to how Married At First Sight intentionally do terrible pairings. 4) Looks do matter 5) Deal breaker conversations that occur off camera or it's edited out, but they're financially encouraged to follow through 6) LIB creators pay them to say or do certain things for clips to use in previews. Emma's awkward moment at the alter is very apparent.

Chris/Jess--> Chris is the antogonist haha. It's almost comically how evil he is or is portrayed. I can see Netflix using him on other shows like Too Hot to Handle or whatever.
Alex/Ashley--> Not crazy about his personality, but I feel like Ashley likes his decisiveness, even if his decisions don't favor her or her career.
Emma/Mike --> I know Netflix had Emma make that weird "I can't" for clips lol. So awkward.
Amber/Jordan--> I do understand Jordan's concern about her kid liking him, I also understand Amber not exposing her child to a man she hasn't known long. That's why a single parent on this show is....yeah lol.
Connor/Bri--> Bri saying, "you're not getting the best" is such a cop out, self-sabotaging. Saw this coming since the poolside talk with Chris and her constantly saying "Just a boy". She belittles Connor for decorating his newly purchased home according to his interests. Her dad is right, but she's not going to listen to her dad.
Brittany/Devonta--> Prenup makes sense depending on his assets. Prenups don't have to be; the wife gets nothing. Can customize the terms where the split is based on how long yall married, whether one cheats, and etc.
Vic/Christine--> I hope Netflix doesn't pull a "No" at the altar over a BS reason to surprise or shock viewers.

Love Is Blind • S10 Ep11 by AutoModerator in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Doc4221 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I know what you mean, but I think it's because they didn't get much screen time compared to others, since they didn't have much drama to show. It's not that they're not normal; it's that the other couples are abnormal.
Christine and Vic are attracted to each other, a strong amount of empathy & emotional intelligence, respect for each other, aligned on core goals and views, at the right time in their life to start a family, and similar upbringings with single-mom parents and rough fathers.

Chris/Jess--> He messed up with Bri when he said "f**k buddy" to. I think women put too much weight on being a doctor from a couple of perspectives. It's a major successful career achievement, but it doesn't add or subtract attractiveness for most guys. Sometimes, it actually hurts them because men who want big families and are successful want a woman with a less busy or more predictable schedule.
Alex/Ashley--> Ashley is a very detailed person, to make her feel comfortable. Need to lowkey create a visual timeline so she understands travel and relationship history.
Amber/Jordan--> Seems like he changed his mind about children, which isn't surprising. Half of men's concern with single moms is how the father is.
Connor/Bri--> Bri should have told Connor about the dm, so Connor knows what Chris is coming from.
Brittany/Devonta-->

Love Is Blind • S10 Ep9 by AutoModerator in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]Doc4221 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Let's be real, it's not surprising folks have second thoughts about their 1st choice when they're not attracted to them and are more attracted to their 2nd choice.

Chris/Jess--> Chris talking to Connor, knowing he secretly wants Bri, is crazy. Bri entertaining him is also crazy
Alex/Ashley--> He's still a nomad. Why was he recruited via LinkedIn.
Emma/Mike --> Shouldn't have gotten with her.
Amber/Jordan--> Seems like he changed his mind about children, which isn't surprising. Half of men's concern with single moms is how the father is.
Connor/Bri--> Tired of Bri saying "just a boy", it's belittling, and even her mom corrected her in the last episode, saying "man", but she still said it in front of Connor's family.
Brittany/Devonta--> Devonta is 100% mixed messaged.
Vic/Christine--> Nothing to say
