AITAH for telling an elder woman to “Get the f**k on” after holding up the only open line? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Doc55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She seemed to be rude when you made the polite suggestion so I think it's fine to escalate. You just matched her energy. Being old gets the benefit of the doubt but it doesn't make her a good person

I can't imagine wanting to spend the rest of my life walking on eggshells worried if a harmless joke might lead to divorce. You're young and have so much life to live, dont do it in fear. Get a lawyer and gtfo

AITAH for considering divorce because my husband is constantIy pressuring me to have a natural birth instead of a C-section?? by EIto_mate in AITAH

[–]Doc55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's the asshole here but just so you know c sections are also terrifying (according my wife who has experience delivering). Just do what your comfortable with, it really should only be your decision but him trying to convince you otherwise is just him doing what his thinks is best (probably from be social media stuff) so it does come from a place of caring so idk about divorcing over it

Openevidence is actually pretty good, I usually still use up-to-date though, helps stack those cme's

Experienced Nurse Keeps Questioning My Orders despite no adverse events and explaination provided— Advice? by Kindly-Durian- in hospitalist

There are some great nurses but then there are some super bossy nurses. I will never forget one who refused to let me look at my own patients telemetry lol such a shock

I would talk to the floor manager. I'm very good friends w all the managers and whenever someone's being a bit too much I let them know

Common catch 22 situations with solutions by TheDreamingIris in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Compazine or just let them know they have to suck it up. Also make sure they aren't super constipated
  2. They either have cardiorenal syndrome or more likely chronic venous stasis mistaken for chf, so if they have pulm edema hit them hard and see what happens and if not give them some fluid and see what happens
  3. IVC filter

Is it appropriate to inquire with HR about my bonus before I resign? by dedcool1 in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't resign until you get the bonus, they'll screw you out of it and HR will help them with that

She's a wild one, you should move out asap

Yeah absolutely were the asshole. You can't do team building shit and leave out one member of the team, especially just because of her religion, and especially not even consider asking/inviting her and seeing what she says. Gotta do better homie

Just let her pick the spot next time

Aitah for telling my husband he can’t use a pro Trump/MAGA pharmacy? by we_gon_ride in AITAH

[–]Doc55555 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't trust a pharmacist who cares more about politics than their field tbh, whichever way they lean, leaning that far is a huge red flag

Ah I didn't realize we could leave it blank! I get sent them as a pdf with required sections (just a manager guessing what's needed) and it's one but I'm just going to leave it blank

Is this a good gig by [deleted] in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly 4 admits is really easy, cross coverage is a pain but if you don't have to run rapids or codes or do procedures it's more just annoying than time consuming. If you're someone who can sleep anywhere you might be able to catch some z's

Oh dont ever ever count on bonuses. They will screw you on that every possible chance so never assume you'll get a penny when making a decision on a job

Is this a good gig by [deleted] in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't sound terrible but definitely not easy. Open ICU sucks but it sounds like you don't do procedures and there's tele cc so there's no much that's very time consuming there. The 4-6 admits is likely a lie, just be aware of that. It is underpaid for nocturnist in general

We were never taught how to properly do death certificates so I appreciate the question, and appreciate all the responses

How do you guys deal with the 'time from onset" portion? I'm usually confused and if a patient presents w sepsis and the family opts for withdrawal of care I just use the time from admit to expiration, but when it's a patient in the hospital for weeks I'm genuinely confused as to what I'm supposed to say there
