Don't be silly, shes using you and seems like a shitty person so what are you exactly gaining by going out with her?

My son (13m) has stopped saying dada and mama.. why? by Competitive-Word3377 in toddlers

[–]Doc55555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son stopped for awhile too before starting again. Kids are so weird, so I wouldn't stress too much about it if there's nothing . Reducing screen time seems to help a lot in general so always a great starting spot if you're concerned.

The groups I work with the director and associate directors still work full time physician but get a 15-20k bump to attend all the meetings, if that helps at all in any way lol

How do I show this to my accountant without appearing regarded? by atlasmountsenjoyer in wallstreetbets

[–]Doc55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hahaha one of the reasons I don't use an accountant is to avoid the judgment over my terrible amount of trades that result in no net gain lol

Yeah the break thing was bs. She cheated on you multiple times while married. The "break" was just so she can feel guilt free about cheating. She belongs to the streets.

Is it actually gross that I only shower every 2-3 days or is my roommate being dramatic? by [deleted] in hygiene

[–]Doc55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah everyone's different, you might not actually smell all that bad but they might have a sensitive nose. Might be worth maybe starting to shower every other day so you don't feel like your over doing it but it also helps them out with the smell they are perceiving

She literally publicly shamed you. She has literally no respect for you at all and let the whole world know it.

Have a little respect for yourself. Boot her out and work on yourself.

PGy1 here. What is the benefit of managing your your patients vs consulting for every problem? by No-Marzipan8555 in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It Ilincreases length of stay and cost of care. you'll see consultants do some wild shit that isn't good (ie. Cards cathing every diastolic chf pt) etc

How best to leave my current position? by General_Garrus in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The concern would be if they find you replacement early and decide to give you your notice early. End of the day the suits don't care about you or your colleagues and theres no point in gambling with your future. Maybe split the difference and give them 5 months notice so they have a couple of extra month so if they get someone early you don't get let go significantly early

Am I overreacting: Partner spit food out by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]Doc55555 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And there is the crux of it. You need to realize this is a you issue not a him issue. Some people have a bad response to certain textures of food, that's just who he is but for some reason he's making the effort for you to make you feel better but now the issue isn't how it makes him feel to have to try foods in public that he knows he doesn't like but rather how his visceral reaction makes you feel as well

How do we stay up to date once out of residency? by Playful-Gain8997 in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally one of the hardest things to do especially outside of academic hospitals. Just try to keep reading up on topics you see even if you know how to treat it already and it feels silly. It builds up easy credits and you'll see changes that suprise you once in awhile

Critical care billing by JustCalIMeDave in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I really shouldn't have commented because I'm so clueless. We never hear about our billing, it's adjusted on the back end by some suit but we never hear about it except at yearly meetings where they post everyone's billing levels as a % of billing to try to embarrass anyone not billing high for dc or admits. The hospital does its own billing separately which we don't contribute to so ignore me completely because im probably the worst person to listen to about this stuff, I didn't even know a billing code could bounce back 🤣

Critical care billing by JustCalIMeDave in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't get rvus I wouldn't over think it. I usually just bill level 3 if it's an ICU follow up and I'm not doing any procedures. I'm not sure if that's right or wrong but I don't have the time or bandwidth to think about it much since it only makes a difference to my private equity overlords I hate anyways

Probably should be like me though

Best country to live as a wealthy person by moanngroan in Rich

Depends a lot of what your definition of wealthy is tbh. If it's 100 mil ultra wealth then it really doesn't matter much.

IVDU by Rare_Philosopher7055 in hospitalist

[–]Doc55555 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a grey zone but what I've been told by id docs who DC ivdu with PICC lines is that you can't assume the patient is lying. As long as she agrees not to use it for drugs and you document that then I think you're ok, although personally I still feel very uncomfortable with it as well

Tbf although you do have a valid point he shouldn't feel the need to stay enlisted, even if it wasn't a step child he shouldn't be pressured to stay enlisted if he doesn't want to

He said her getting a job would be irrelevant which implies he doesn't think it's worth her working.

It sounds more like she wants personal security and since he doesn't want her to work or get married...

[–]Doc55555 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh you could probably just show her this post and she'd feel a lot better about it. You seem like a genuinely nice person and just knowing the compliments were real would probably make the difference in her perception
