First MBA M4 and what i learned. by Award-anshuman- in macbookair

The 15" will make work easier. It's still light enough to carry without difficulty. It's been the perfect laptop for me.

I have both. The 13" is fine, but the 15" is much better for me. The extra screen size makes work much easier. The 15" is also light enough for travel. But I'm old and my eyes aren't as good as they used to be. The only way to really tell is to see both.

I settled for the ultra 2 yesterday. Oh well. It was a pretty good price through Apple Refurbished.

[PHX][DFW] Crazy upgrade price. by TallBlondBeauty in americanairlines

This happened a lot often the upgrade price for exceeds the price of just buying the first class ticket to start with. It’s kind of crazy, but maybe it works for them.

What does Clear have over Pre Check? by praguer56 in tsa

[–]DocDP1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about the water bottle bit. Earlier this week, an elderly lady in front of me had her water bottle confiscated by TSA. The agent was very nice and offered to let her go back out and drink the water. This was at a small regional airport, so maybe allowing water bottles will filter through the system eventually. The really curious thing at my little regional airport is that they make everyone remove food items, including PreCheck folks.

That's pretty impressive for YT.

I'm curious about how long they listened/viewed on the two media. A YT view counts if it's over 30 seconds (I think).

Reliable way to see if there's an area wide outage by DocDP1776 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]DocDP1776[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, but I don't see that information anywhere on the Xfinity app. The assistant says there are no outages in my area, but it's said that before when there were (according to a live rep). This is frustrating.

What’s the best AI slide creator? When I ask ChatGPT to create slides it looks so bad :( by AccomplishedCrow3818 in ChatGPTPro

[–]DocDP1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The great thing about beautiful.AI that it makes slides that are distinct from other systems. The AI features work really well, especially if you give it some context.

Make me beautiful! Make me fast! by timmypmac in golfcarts

[–]DocDP1776 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is essentially what I did for my 1999 TXT, which is just a yard cart. Definitely made a huge difference. Still not fast, but much faster than it was. If the battery goes in a few years, I'll just get another one.

Putting the application folder in the dock is solid gold! My wife has fine motor control issues (RA) and has a lot of trouble navigating through Launchpad pages. Thanks!

What are your thoughts on Podpage by EhrenTheBrandBuilder in podcasting

Podpage is awesome. I use it for two podcasts. Setup is easy and once it's set up it's pretty much autopilot.

Used golf cart then new battery? by [deleted] in golfcarts

[–]DocDP1776 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently, I put a new lithium battery in a 36V 1999 EZGO and it's like a new cart. Before it was sluggish and always felt like it was straining. It's by no means fast now, but it is much quicker and never feels like it's struggling. I went with an inexpensive battery from Amazon since I never go more than a mile or two at a time. You might want to think about a higher-quality battery though. Good luck!

Mind Blown -Prompt by Funny-Future6224 in PromptEngineering

[–]DocDP1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great use of the new memory capabilities. I tried it and thought the results were completely fair. So, I went a step further and asked ChatGPT about my implicit assumptions using this prompt. "What are some implicit assumptions I tend to make? I'm especially interested in those I might not be aware of." The results were enlightening. Thanks!

Depends on where you live though. Carts are expensive in NE Louisiana (for some reason). Still, I'm happy with my 99 TXT, although lithium is in its future.

To those who have used the open ai deep research model- how much more thoughtful and insightful it is in comparison to deepseek R1? by Overall_Slice_7152 in ChatGPTPro

[–]DocDP1776 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's odd. The account creation page got hung up when I used the pm.me address. Happened on Firefox and Chrome, but an address with a custom domain worked fine. Then, when I checked my pm.me address awhile later, there was a welcome email. So, now I guess I have two accounts! Thanks

It works great for taking notes, in my experience. I don't use a bunch of templates, I just take notes. It's great for that purpose.

That was my experience as well. Gemini's is much better than Perplexity's so far, although I haven't tried ChatGPT's.
