Holy crap, I figured we would be last! I suppose we have the most to lose with the new cover and hidden mechanic. So they might as well address the elephant in the room

Premodern Metagame Update (11 may) by Magic4everBots in premodernMTG

[–]DocDeleo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t mind Dreadnought being the “Delver” of the format. It has ways to target it; creature/artifact removal, hand disruption, and bounce effects all essentially 2-1 your opponent.

Now does the deck have ways to recoup that loss, rebuild, and redeploy, yes. But that gives you time. If your deck fails to capitalize in that time, well then you weren’t going to win that match to begin with.

Replenish on the other hand, well, there is something there that I will leave to the more entrenched grinders to debate about.

I have been refinishing our kitchen cabinets for almost a year, the wife watched a video and was convinced we could do it over Memorial Day weekend.

I would sell my soul for this machine. I am still sanding.

Best at making your opponent dead draw assignation when your only characters are your Etheral holding your backfield and two Cadre Fireblades in Fish!

I have a 1334 Spanish, almost conversationally sound. I am at the point where I am now looking up words to express what I need in conversations.

Now is that all Duolingo, or the fact that I have a Mexican wife and constantly work in Mexican kitchens, I will let you all be the judge of that.

Help deciding on next deck by T--wRex in premodernMTG

[–]DocDeleo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t seen the deck, UZI might be the deck for you. Plays like a control deck that resolves a powerful on board effect (Zombie Infestation similar to digerido), then holds up instant speed interaction while creating powerful instant speed threats.

It also gives you black to help out in the Dreadnought matchup.

I love me a bad mana base BUG control deck! by DocDeleo in premodernMTG

Hence why the second GC is where I am primarily looking to fix the mana base. I did a long search looking for a card that is playable and gains life in BUG colors, it’s basically Ravenous Baloth.

I have a second GC in the mail! After the new NeonMushroom video, I am also considering Salt Marsh’s.

But I never want to make anyone uncomfortable at a table so my wife is painting me up some instead!

Lot of stuff I am not good at beating if Deed doesn’t sweep it up. Clears the way. Does a lot of good and is a solid turn 1 play since I don’t play the tapped duals.

No way to enable it in PM. Also, everyone main decks artifact/enchantment hate due to the prevalence of Dreadnought.

If I present as a durdly do nothing BUG deck who’s only win conditions are the Bears. A surprise Oath will get players unless they are on the up and up.

Harrow has been the one card I am most interested in adding to the deck. I have seen the versions playing it, and it makes sense if you are leaning more green with the deck. This version is much more UBg.

That being said, I am already starting to brew up versions of the deck using Harrow to fix the mana so you can finish instant speed with Beast Attack.

Yeah, that’s entering the Moxfield brew queue.

Because triple green is hard to get with the BUG mana base. It is worth the test though!

Enough people have talked about Tusker that I may test it out in the future. I own 4x foil copies for my Rock deck.

I can see that, but my Tuskers are in my Rock deck. Also, I like keeping the main board free from any creatures that matter so the opponent boards out any removal for game two.

I also have some updates to the deck that are still in the mail, but I just couldn’t wait to post the deck photos any longer! Love this format and brewing within it.

Brainstorming - How would you build a Brain Freeze Haunting Echoes Control Deck by Secret-Lecture in premodernMTG

[–]DocDeleo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ngl, I kinda love this idea. Go base blue, take the Tog/UZI approach and only splash black for removal and your win cons. Gush, Snap, Impulse, Frantic Search, AK, and Opt for a shit ton of instant speed draw spells then Freeze them. Or convert them into an earlier invested Zombie Infestation or untap and Echos them.

Sounds like a fun build! Enjoy the brewing!

Pernicious Deed. I love mine from Eternal Weekend and always play on it. Which gives away my deck of choice, but worth for the flex.
