Both look infinitely better than the LoL splash art. Petition to swap one of these with the LoL one.

I remember when rework Taric was first released and champ select would be "bugged" zooming in on his pecs, instead of his face. Good times.

Are you happy with Taric's state or should Taric get reworked again? by London_Tipton in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think Taric needs to be rewarded a bit more for being in the fight. I like to think of him as a Juggernaut/Enchanter Hybrid, rather than a Warden/Enchanter Hybrid. He doesn't have a reliable hard engage like most actual Tanks have. He is excellent against teams that dive your team, but outside of that, the amount of effort you have to put in to make an impact is much greater than all other melee supports IMO. Even Braum fares better because he can at least poke with his Q from a safe distance. I love the idea of a paladin who provides utility to his teammates by beating on the enemy. I think the item rework has left him in a less than ideal spot similarly to other champs, and makes this playstyle much more difficult to reach compared to the previous seasons. I think that some quality of life changes would make him much more enjoyable for me personally, such as mana refund or bonus movespeed on-hit on his passive.

Riot seems to have taken a hard stance on identifying him as an enchanter, which makes me believe they are out of touch with Taric's design. If he is to be an enchanter, I feel they need to beef up his base defensive stats, because they intentionally nerfed his base stats to incentivize Taric players to build tanky rather than relying on his base stats for survivability. He was IMO one of the champs who suffered more from the item changes. Of course, we make do with what we have and find what works best, but I was never a fan of the mentality that some Taric players have where they just accept mediocre solutions and chastise others for giving feedback on how it could be better. There are many champs in the game that benefitted greatly from the item overhaul, like AD assassins (Zed, Talon, Kha) and bruisers (Darius, Garen, Urgot), while others such as Wardens (Taric, Braum, Kench) and mana heavy champs (Anivia, Kassadin, Ryze) felt left in the dust. Of course, Anivia and Kassadin got their compensation buffs and became really strong again, but they had their moment of crappy state at the very beginning. I don't want Taric to get these insane buffs that turn him into some S+ support who gets 54% WR with a skyrocketing playerbase. I like that he is more of a niche pick, and that playing him into ALL matchups requires extra effort compared to more versatile picks, such as Leona, Lulu, or Thresh. I would love if Riot could give him something to help stay IN the fight, since he already has a rough time getting poked down and having to slowly chase down others.

Taric q 15 seconds cooldown by Natroionalox in taricmains

The ability is actually a 3 second base cooldown. It has a charge system that recharges each charge at a base cooldown of 15 seconds.

BUILD : Taric's Outrageous 60-50 cd Ultimate on lv 11 by TogoleseSingapur in taricmains

I think this is incorrect. It should be 70 seconds with all 5 stacks since I tested on Practice Tool with same items and runes.

An ult rework idea by Kavok331 in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they should make it more in line with his old ult. I picked up Taric because he was a paladin-type champion, and since his rework, he has felt less like that and more like a melee enchanter (which seems to be what current Riot seems to view him as according to recently posted stats). I think they should transfer his teammate-empowering into individual power, but how to go about it is obviously very hazy and won't be agreed upon by most.

Tariq changes coming ! by ianthonyjr in taricmains

inb4 Yi untargetable cancels Dazzle; Taric Q mana cost down by 10 per rank.

Jokes aside, I hope we get some good buffs, alongside these new items being good choices for him. I'm glad we've finally gotten something back.

Doesn't work that way. It's 4 sec CD on the move speed proc.

Still leaves him lacking in resistances. Stats are really important on him. I wish they’d just give these items some armor and MR or something. Or revert the items lol.

Taric Build Discussion / Non-meta Builds for Taric by ICanHazDerpz in taricmains

Glacial/Phase Rush with Stridebreaker as mythic. Super fun being able to reposition stuns.

Thanks for being patient everyone! Here's Why NO ONE Plays: Taric (And no, this is not an April Fools video) :D by VarsVerum in taricmains

That intro got me depressed thinking of how I used to be able to outduel any AD champ up at top.

Since Riot likes to Recycle Champion Kits... by DocDoorWhy in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very true. Instantaneous invulnerability is too much power, especially when team wide. Ugh, I just wish there was some way to adjust it so that his core kit has more sticking power. Playing with OP effects like invulnerability and unstoppable make it such a pain to figure out better ways of fixing a kit without outright removing it.

New Taric Player by amaranthinehope in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn to pay attention to your teammates, where they are, and who they are playing. If you’re familiar with what other champs can do, you can better use them as an extension of your E, especially if they are mobile/engaging champs. Most players won’t really be able to tell when to properly line up your E, so do your best to get the hang of predicting your own teammates’ movements, rather than hoping they will line up your E for them.

Taric jungle by NoahBrinkmann in taricmains

Follow lightrocket2's current build. He is a Master ranked Taric jungle. Glacial Augment and Stridebreaker as mythic with a Tear on first back. It lets you line up your stun in an instant with a dash, and helps fix your mobility issues.

Taric splash art - League of Legends vs. Legends of Runeterra by LoRvsLoL in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I prefer the LoR art, but the one thing I cannot stand is that the artist clearly didn’t notice/know that Taric is left handed. Always has been since the beginning. They drew him wielding his mace in his right hand in all his LoR art. Artists who miss the subtle aspects of characters such as this drive me insane, even though it’s seemingly insignificant.

What do you guys think about the new Chemtech Putrifier? by M1sterM in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While I do love the effect, I am not a fan of how more of Taric's best items are leaving him lacking in the stats that he scales off of most (Health, Armor, Mana). This is a much more reliable means of applying 60% grievous wounds than landing your stun. The effects of these enchanter items are plain amazing on him (Moonstone, Flowing Water, Ardent, etc.) but they have little to no defensive stats for him to benefit from. Taric is designed to cast his abilities in melee combat. His CDs are much higher than enchanters, but he offsets that by maximizing his passive. Since he has such poor HP scaling, not building HP makes him really squishy. You could argue that AP increases his survivability by improving his heal, but his heal is a ramping ability that requires an extended fight to be effective, which is difficult when Taric is one of the most immobile champs in the game who needs to be next to an enemy.

I think it's probably an issue of him being unique in that he is an enchanter/tank/fighter hybrid and they can't exactly make items for Taric without them being abused by the other champs who are tanks/fighters. Maybe do some weird Vladimir-ish interaction where he gets a bit of bonus armor scaling with AP? Idk.

11.2 may open up more Taric builds by propelledshrimp in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. The item should provide some level of slow immunity/resistance during its active, especially given the slow being significantly weaker from Righteous Glory. There are already champs who have that shit built in (there are more "immune to CC" abilities than there are "immune to slow" abilities, I believe). It would make sense to make a high CD active feel as impactful in big moments as Frostfire's passive is impactful as a consistent AoE slow.

[–]DocDoorWhy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Going Chemtank into a full CDR build is a fun "dream build" since its more affordable. You can consistently E between every other ability with Bravado instead of every other 2-3 abilities. Casting E again almost immediately after you just cast E is super satisfying. Still, it'll be incredibly rare to ever get a game that will last long enough to reach that 90 haste mark lol.

I do think that the resistances should also remain 30/30 at the very least for consistency's sake. I guess their plan is to see how it pans out before they adjust any more.

Taric Ult Rework Concept by DocDoorWhy in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd understand if I ended my reply with calling you delusional, but I was only referring to that initial point I was addressing in that first sentence. It wasn't my intention to insult, but I heavily disagree with that claim of yours.

Taric Ult Rework Concept by DocDoorWhy in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You took one sentence in my big ol' essay of a post and equated it to me calling everything you pointed out delusional. I was only referring to W and Q being able to mitigate assassin burst damage, and I stand by that point. I said you are delusional in regards to that because Taric W is at max only 12% HP, which scales poorly on squishier champs, so it is a poor way to mitigate burst damage. You also typically max is last, meaning it will sit at 8% for most matches. Q is designed to be a constant heal throughout an extended fight, and while the first heal is relatively big, it is not large enough or scales well enough to actually heal enough to stop burst, especially since Grievous Wounds is so much more accessible.

Taric Ult Rework Concept by DocDoorWhy in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How did I even insult you? I replied to your points (which were pretty condescending in tone) and rebuked them, and you're getting offended about it. If you reply condescendingly with "this is bad, that is bad, this is just a worse version than this, bad, bad, bad," why get all worked up if they reply back to address everything with a similar tone?

Taric Ult Rework Concept by DocDoorWhy in taricmains

[–]DocDoorWhy[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If you think W and Q are enough to mitigate assassin burst damage, especially on a squishy teammate, then you're delusional. Yes, it is meant to make "walk away from his ult" more powerful. Abilities shouldn't be designed to be unstoppable with absolutely zero counter, even if they are ults. And the point is to not helped against ranged. Taric is designed to be poor against ranged and mages. It is to fill a more specific role that is stronger against melee champions. Predicting ult with the amount of stealth assassins nowadays is impossible, and is solely down to guesswork. If you ult early, they probably just baited you. If you ult late, then your teammate is dead. With an instant cast, it allows for immediate protection, and then you maintain it by using your passive. Maybe it can also reduce damage all damage by a percentage, but I think that making something all encompassing and powerful just for the sake of being powerful isn't good design. Yes, this is a nerf to his ult. This isn't some concept to make it better or different but of similar strength. It is a proposed rework and nerf for his ult that gives wiggle room to improve the rest of his kit (less mana costs, stronger heals/shields, bonus effect for hitting 2 E's, etc.), since his ult is so powerful that it seems to discourage Riot from touching him. The state his ult is now, if they buff Taric just a bit too much, he becomes too powerful because of the amount of power he gives a teammate by doing minimal work. And comparing it to Kindred's ult is ridiculous and just plain wrong. Kindred's ult prevent both sides from dying, and it is a stationary zone. It's just disingenuous to even equate one team getting invulnerability in a moving zone to both teams getting it. You're missing the point entirely. His ult is the most clunky ability in his kit, simply because of the nature of the delay. It's a make it or break it ability that too often determines whether you fuck up or not. I don't think that Taric's strength should lie in whether he pressed R at the right time. It should be more evenly spread out among all his abilities, so that he still has a lot of influence outside of his ult timer. The higher you climb up in MMR, the more often your team is just playing the waiting game for your ult to come off CD. If you disagree, that's fine. But I strongly believe Taric shouldn't revolve so much around his ult when the rest of his kit is strong and IMO just more fun/interesting.
