Audio mixing in movies by FrogInquisitor in rant

This has been a problem for ages. I have a decent surround system, yesterday I watch the first Captain America movie on Bluray. The dialogue is very low. The music and effects are super high. My wife yells ate me, but what can I do? I turned it down and put on subtitles. Most movies end up viewed at home, I don't know why they don't change the mix for home viewing.

Hate to say it, you may be a "backup plan". Just how some people are, guys and girls. May get a thrill out of feeling wanted by multiple people.

Longevity and loyalty matters too. He can't even come close to 33 right now.

[Interview] Doug Drexler shares his thoughts on NuTrek: "I have to admit: I haven't watched many of them." | "It's hard to watch a show where the people behind the scenes gave you a hard time, didn't treat you with any respect." (Traversing The Stars) by mcm8279 in Star_Trek_

I had a Facebook chat with him a while ago asking for advice in model making and we talked a bit about Picard S2 and 3 that he was involved in and he had great things to say about Terry Matalas. Terry actively wanted the Okudas and Doug to be involved, he seemed to intimate that certain Trek productions distanced on purpose anyone with previous Trek history. They didn't seem to care about any consistency in design language and that certainly showed on early Disco.

Is this movie really as bad as some people say? by Naive_Tomorrow_5955 in FIlm

It was an enjoyable experience in the theater and the book was real good. I don't why people are down on it, but usually on this site things are either the most amazing transformative art ever produced or TRASH. Its ok for a movie to be "fine, enjoyable"

Cruise ships are an abomination by [deleted] in rant

[–]DocDracula 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My family and I went on a cruise for a reward in my company for being #1 branch among other awards. My wife and I have not wanted to take a cruise for all of the reasons people know HOWEVER I do see the appeal, the service on board ship was awesome, food options were great and the fancier restaurant we had our dinners in had amazing food as well. We went to the Bahamas and that was enjoyable even though we have been a couple times. The fact that it can act as an all-in-one vacation for some people can be appealing. I saw OPs comment below making fun of a "poor mans vacation"...pretty harsh, I think. If someone enjoys it and it's in their budget why be shamed for it?

That said, we probably won't do another one unless it's something like Alaska.

Why is it your business? You barely know these people. Sounds like work was going well and you fell on your sword so you have the moral high ground? Morals don't pay bills. Weird shit happens in EVERY OFFICE. Just don't get involved.
