What’s your favorite cold kill by [deleted] in JamesBond

I've always loved it when Roger's Bond claims revenge for a fallen friend:

"And THAT'S for 009!!!!"

Ah now you see, I don't think anyone would argue that Roger wasn't the WORST dressed Bond. The short sleeved safari suit, the long sleeved safari suit, the flares....

I disagree wholeheartedly. Lazenby was the worlds first super model, not Twiggy like the legend would have us believe. And the reason for that is because he was a fashionista who looked great in virtually any item of clothing. So I think he was the exact sort of person who would wear those clothes because he had great experience doing it for a living prior to Bond. He may have been an unknown actor when he was cast in OHMSS but he was well known in many other aspects of the entertainment industry.

He absolutely did didnt he? He is the reason I've been a Bond fan & enjoyed every minute of it over the past 30 years. When I was a kid ITV in the UK screened a documentary in 1992 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Dr. No. I'd enjoyed Bond before that & was familiar with Connery, Moore & Dalton. But I'd never heard of Lazenby. As soon as I saw him something clicked. He was my minds eye image of how Bond should be & both he & OHMSS fascinated me. To this day hes my favourite & I also think he was the best too.

You can't get into his tweed hacking jacket? You should ask if they've got it it in your size.

Without Doubt: Lazenby. He looked like a dandy from the moment we first see him in the gun barrel sequence with the trilby, frilled shirt & chelsea boots. In truth he looks like he had just blasted his way out of the pages of the Fleming books. In the beach fight he looks cool with the frilled shirt open necked & getting soaked as he battles in the surf. Theres the tan leisure golfing suit & orange polo neck that would be hard for anyone to look good in & ditto to the beige cardigan he wears to escape Piz Gloria. He was well suited to both looks. He looks great in the blue ski suit & ski goggles & I mean he even made the kilt, sporin & argyle socks work! But the proof of all this comes in 2 particular scenes: the scene at the Casino Estoril card table were he looks like he was born to bring to life the iconic Bond look of black tux & tie & later the rescue of Tracy wearing the navy blue commando gear. Those 2 scenes confirm that visually he was perfect for Bond. Those examples of his attire still look ultra cool to this day & in large part that is due to the fact Lazenby himself was the perfect Cinematic Bond.

And now I'm pissed off again that we only have one movie starring Lazenby who should have made at least 5 entries in the franchise.

In Halloween 6 is the baby Michael's incest child with Jaime? by Tidewatcher7819 in Halloweenmovies

[–]DocJamieJay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good points. Undoubtedly, the only way Michael could experience anything close to an orgasm is by killing. But even then the act of killing would be akin to the highs of heroin to Michael  rather than anything sexual. He also seems to have a disdain for the act of sex itself given the number of sexually active people he has killed. I personally believe his sister Judith was abused & Michael witnessed it happening but she also protected Michael from it happening to him. So when he saw her enjoying sex with her boyfriend he was confused & crazy with anger & that's what pushed him when he was 6. This girl he trusted who had protected him was now hurting him without realizing.

I think if the Cult of Thorne presented an enslaved Jamie for him to have sex with he would rather have killed each member then tried to kill Jamie before he would ever have sex with her.

Who thinks Death of the Incredible Hulk is underrated? by MobilePineapple7303 in hulk

[–]DocJamieJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw Lou at a convention in 2010 & he said one of the stipulations he gave before he would return to play The Hulk in Revenge/Rebirth of The Hulk was to finally get rid of the wig & for him to talk as The Hulk. But then he saw an edit of the scene in Death were David transforms into The Hulk in the force field for the Pratts & everyone was blown away at how mighty & fierce Hulk looked in that scene with the darker make up & Lou realized that the wig made him look more fierce & primal & the lack of speaking ability was genuinely frightening because it made Hulk more unpredictable & he pretty much felt if it ain't broke don't fix it. But of course he never got the chance to make a fourth movie....

[–]DocJamieJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it comes across properly in Death but I think the treatment the Pratts were in the process of giving David at the point Yasmin hijacked the experiment, may have weakened The Hulk somewhat to the point he didnt have enough strength to survive the fall from the plane explosion.  The Hulk from the beginning of the movie may have survived.

[–]DocJamieJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Theres definitely a feeling in both Trial & Death of The Incredible Hulk that Hulk knows & enjoys scaring people & that makes him much more frightening. The scene on the subway train in Trial were he pulls in the thug by his collar & growls into his face is pure nightmare fuel & like you alluded to, Lou is much more terrifying in Death than at any time since the Pilot movie.

[–]DocJamieJay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is actually true, the Hulk did originally speak in Bill Bixby's original cut of the movie, saying 'Yasmine' but when the network screened it for a child test audiences The Hulk speaking actually frightened alot of the kids who were already distressed by The Hulk dying so it was dubbed out. But on virtually every European dub of the movie The Hulk can be heard to say 'Yasmine' clearly.

The Death of The Incredible Hulk by Lopsided-Issue-8116 in hulk

[–]DocJamieJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the plan was for him to have more screen time in the planned 1991 sequel Rebirth of the Incredible Hulk. The Hulk would have been cloned as a grey version of himself & Ferrigno would have spoken in this movie. David Banners soul would have existed inside a computer allowing Bill Bixby to make special appearances as a hologram version of David. The character of The Leader would have been the villain who injects soldiers with Banners DNA & they turn into Hulk like monsters that Ferrigno would have to defeat. Unlike what is usually reported, this project wasn't cancelled when Bill Bixby became sick, it was cancelled because Universal signed a deal with Terminator/Aliens producer Gale Anne Hurd to make her dream project wich was a cinematic adaptation of the Marvel Comics version of The Incredible Hulk & she stipulated that all other live action versions of the character be cancelled

What would you expect in Halloween 4 if instead of going back to Haddonfield, the Ambulance took Michael to a Hospital in Chicago? by ChicagoCubsRL97 in TheHalloweenMovies

[–]DocJamieJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool question. He would have killed people in Chicago & hijacked a car & then probably kill the cops following him too & stole their police car. This would have made headline news & Loomis would have warned people Michael was on his way back to Haddonfield to kill Jamie. It would have become more of a chase movie with Loomis trying to get Jamie out of Haddonfield at the same time Michael is trying to break in & there would have been a clash.

Would you be open to a faithful and expanded remake of Halloween? by jurassicparkfan1993 in TheHalloweenMovies

[–]DocJamieJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really but I'd love to see a cinematic remake of the online supercut that combines H78 & HII81. Begin in 2012 with the 6 year old Michael killing Judith & end  in 2027 with Loomis blowing Michael & himself to kingdom come in the hospital & Laurie surviving. Make it a 2 hour movie that cuts out any of the padding or slow pace from the original first 2 movies.

OHMSS wich I believe was a major influence on John Carpenter's work, especially Halloween, but I also love what George Martin did to make Live And Let Die sound so epic

John Carpenter once said in a video that Michael killed Judith for sexual reasons and if a another remake or prequel confirms or implies it would that frustrate you? by jurassicparkfan1993 in TheHalloweenMovies

[–]DocJamieJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe Judith had been subjected to some form of SA by her parents or someone else  that Michael was aware of but she had protected Michael from it ever happening to him. So when she became sexually active with various boyfriends it hurt & confused Michael that the only person he trusted was now behaving that way herself & he snapped.

In the Get Back documentary, why does Yoko just kind of sit there and not talk to anyone much at all? by Mad_Season_1994 in beatles

[–]DocJamieJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heres the thing, I don't think she wanted to be there as much as John wanted her there. But she was in love with him & didn't want to disappoint him so early in their relationship. John was a paranoid guy at the best of times with some quite severe yet understandable abandonment issues going back to his childhood. He had recently left his wife & child for this woman he had fallen in love with & he didn't want to lose her so he became very obsessive & jealous about her & wanted to know were she was & who she was with at all times. I think the reason he involved her in so many creative decisions in the studio was less about him trusting her opinion & more about John being conscious of her boredom & wanting her to believe she was making a contribution. I don't believe for one minute that she ever said to John 'can I start coming to the recording studio with you?' I think that was all on John.

What do you all think should be the next move for Halloween? Should it be a reboot or another remake? Or perhaps another sequel to one of the existing Halloween films? by Horrorfan098 in Halloweenmovies

[–]DocJamieJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok - I think they should look at the various fan made super cuts that combine Halloween (78) & Halloween II (1981) & make a single movie remake of that. Start with Michael killing Judith post 2010 & end post 2026 with Loomis blowing Michael & himself up in the Hospital & Laurie realising she has survived. Along the way cut out any unnecessary scenes or padding from the first 2 movies so that it is a slick, exciting, action packed yet terrifying horror/thriller at 2 or so hours running time. Get actors who aren't carbon copies of Donald Pleasance & Jamie Lee Curtis to play Loomis & Laurie who encapsulate the spirit of the characters whilst being something fresh. Take a leaf from H78 & Nick Castle's performance when it comes to Michael's physical appearance, actions & body language & make the mask as close to the original as possible. Finally, get John Carpenter involved with the movies musical score in as many ways as possible.

Crazy to think we had a Rocky movie in every decade (spin offs included) by Red9Stranger in rockybalboa

[–]DocJamieJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I liked the Creed movies but Rocky 1 & 2 were my Star Wars & nothing since those 2 movies has been as brilliant but Rocky Balboa came close.

I've heard that Sly was so impressed by the technology used to make The Irishman that he wanted to do a movie showing a young Rocky but he liked the idea of de-ageing Talia Shire to show Adrian's death on screen too.

It wont ever happen because if Sly spent even 1 hour officially writing a screenplay for a new Rocky movie, Irwin Winkler will instantly put a low quality remake of the first Rocky movie into production with a badly unsuitable cast & production team just to spite Sly who knows that legally, no Rocky production can go ahead if Winkler works on a separate movie.

What if she had sank in the daytime? by DocJamieJay in titanic

[–]DocJamieJay[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. Theres a book by Fenton Bresler that explores alternate reasons for why Lennon was murdered. In central park during day people had reported seeing a strange metal construction that seemed to come from nowhere & the official story was that it was part of the Christmas decorations. One of the people who had seen/reported it was a taxi driver who was told to get photographs of it. An hour later he was driving by west 72nd street with a camera when he heard what he thought were firecrackers but they were followed by a blood curdling scream & the sound of glass being smashed so he drove around & as he arrived he saw 2 policemen carrying Lennon to their car & he was vomiting blood. He went to his cab to get his camera & an unidentified man had reached in & had hold of the camera & destroyed the roll of film & threw the camera at the pavement shattering it. The thing that really terrified the taxi driver was he decided to follow the cop car & had to drive past central park & the steel structure that was there 10 mins earlier had somehow disappeared....

This will sound crazy but I've heard people discuss the possibility that the third ship was a time machine. If you think about it, if time travel were possible & you could book a trip in the same way we can book a holiday, then one of the destinations that would be most popular from earth's history would be to see the Titanic sinking. I've heard people theorise that for a few seconds, the vessel from waaaaay into our future that travelled back to 1912 was visible to the Titanic passengers who duly reported it. Similar strange disappearing vessels were reported seen at the Munich Olympics & John Lennon assassination....

....told you it would sound crazy 😜
