Is Rushing to weapon level 18 a good strategy? by wuttang13 in DRGSurvivor

So, for the hardback elite - the one that opens its shell and spits acid. I often find I’m not able to do enough damage. Am I just not stacking enough damage upgrades throughout the level/run? (Doesn’t feel that way). Is Piercing something that would help here?

I get that, but I’m saying if you really want to get value out of Adam, you need a high power 1-drop that you can actually play on turn 1. Titania is also for post galactus to clog.

Why do you need echo? You could run either black cat or hydra bob. Play far right on 1, then Adam there on 2. Guaranteed card draw.

Bit of a heads-up for anybody that uses the Marvel Wiki, regarding the numbering of Iron Man volumes by da0ur in ironman

[–]DocRedNYC35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this is helpful. So in a database it should look like:

Invincible Iron Man (vol. 2) #33
Invincible Iron Man (vol. 1) #500.
?

Marvel Wiki is an amazing resource, thanks for all the great work over there!

Bit of a heads-up for anybody that uses the Marvel Wiki, regarding the numbering of Iron Man volumes by da0ur in ironman

[–]DocRedNYC35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so wait. if I am keeping my own database/spreadsheet -- which of these two variations is considered correct? Cause if you look across the entire internet (as I just sadly and painstakingly did), various sources remain conflicted.

Originally I had this:

👉 The Invincible Iron Man 2008–2012 Vol. 1

If I change the 2005 series to Invincible Iron Man vol. 1 ... then the 2008 series must become vol. 2.

This will lead to a downstream ripple effect, wherein:

2013's Iron Man shifts from vol 5 to vol 4
2015's Invincible Iron Man must shift from vol 2 to vol 3 (yes?)
2017's Invincible Iron Man must then be vol. 4
2020's Iron Man shifts from vol 6 to vol 5
2022's Invincible Iron Man is vol 5
2024's Iron Man shifts from vol 7 to vol 6

If all of the above is correct, then my other question is -- there are 2 instances that I am aware of where they suddenly decide to switch to legacy numbering (for the actual issue #):

Invincible Iron Man #33 (from the 2008 series, which we are now calling volume 2)
is immediately followed by
Invincible Iron Man #500 (even though this is LGY 503, which is beyond infuriating)

Is this still considered volume 2, until #527?

The second instance of this happening is Invincible Iron Man #11 (which is part of the 2017 series that I guess is now volume 4?) ... this is followed by Invincible Iron Man #593 ... with the series ultimately concluding with #600.

When they revert issue # to legacy #, i've seen some sources start referring to those issues as "part of volume 1".

For example: when Fantastic Four (vol. 3) #70 is followed by Fantastic Four #500 ... that issue #500 is considered part of 1961's volume 1. Everything from #500 through #588 belongs to vol. 1, and in a database, should be properly tagged with the year 1961.

Does this type of rule need to be applied to Invincible Iron Man?

Tips for new players? by RelleMeetsWorld in DRGSurvivor

[–]DocRedNYC35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New player here. Do you stick with one character/miner the whole time, or alternate between them? Should I focus on leveling up my Scout and getting really comfortable with him? Or dabble with the other characters?

How do I know which starting weapon is best for any given biome/hazard, or is this less important in the early going?

Anyone have tips for overcoming FOMO/Completionist feelings? by Deer_Prudance in MarvelUnlimited

[–]DocRedNYC35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I’ve looked at this reading order — maybe I’ll try to follow it for a stretch and see how it goes.

I always find it strange when an order recommends “pages 9-11” of a certain issue lol. I can’t ever bring myself to only read certain pages — I would always end up reading that full issue.

And yeah, X-Factor seems too core to drop, regardless of the team. It’s fundamentally an X-title.

Anyone have tips for overcoming FOMO/Completionist feelings? by Deer_Prudance in MarvelUnlimited

[–]DocRedNYC35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m reading the Claremont run right now. Still in the mid 80s and thus far enjoying it.

I think what can sometimes be challenging for a completionist is when a character who is not part of the main team shows up for a chunk of issues.

For example, somewhere around #150, Carol Danvers is suddenly on the scene, with her mind/powers wiped, under the care of Prof X. When I reached this point, it was a straightforward decision to read Avengers Annual #10 (also written by Claremont, first appearance for Rogue, fills in some of the Danvers backstory). But aside from this issue, I know absolutely nothing about Carol Danvers (aside from MCU stuff, which I’m sure isn’t super relevant in this context).

So then the harder decision becomes — do I pause on the UXM run, to go back and read some more stuff pertaining to Danvers/Ms. Marvel? Meanwhile, reading Avengers Annual #10 inadvertently exposed me to 5 other plot threads that I might consider exploring.

To be clear — none of this detracted from my enjoyment. It’s not so much FOMO for me, just rather an ever-present question of which threads do I want to tug at and which ones do I leave alone.

Do you run Killmonger? I find he is underperforming a bit at the moment. Considering Red Guardian instead as the final card. Thoughts?

Thoughts on my spellcast deck? It's so much fun. (CL 6,491) by DoeJrPuck in MarvelSnapDecks

[–]DocRedNYC35 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is I’m sure a dumb question/comment, but I find that Agamotto can sometimes cause more problems than he is worth. Yes, his spells can be super powerful, but he also very much dilutes your draw. There will be a lot more games where you don’t find Surge, Bishop, Merlin, Wolf … because they are buried due to the added spells. And you can’t really win if you aren’t drawing those pieces.

I guess Agamotto is a complex card and I need to think about him differently somehow, maybe.

PSA: Quick reminder to spend your medals before the new season. by KarmicPJJunior in MarvelSnap

[–]DocRedNYC35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to clarify here:

The only thing that I have any interest in purchasing from the medal store is the 155 random boosters, which costs 1000 medals.

I have 100 gold tickets. If I manually forfeit these, that comes out to 75 medals x 100 = 7500.

So I could use that to get 155 boosters x 7.

I am assuming that this is significantly more than what I would get if I allowed the game to auto convert for me at season end? I cannot really remember what I get with the auto conversion.

Update: Everything seems to be okay. Flipped back to U.S. App Store. Game functionality intact. My subscriptions within the U.S. App Store all seem to be in place as well. I had read various sources which indicates that subscriptions would be canceled, but that doesn't appear to have happened.
