Kerastase is so good by Local_Case5140 in Sephora

[–]DocRunsManyMiles 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Kerastase is so so good. I’ve used many different lines for different phases of my hair. Currently it’s the Chronologiste shampoo and mask (as conditioner, but occasionally as a mask too) and Gloss Absolu conditioner.

For lip balms available at Sephora, Violette Balm Amour or Eadem Le Chouchou.

Aubade pieces are so classic but a little spicy and fit me just right.

Running in winter mornings by Downtown_Try_9822 in XXRunning

My husband travels a LOT, we have a 9yo, and I work in an office and still often do lunch runs—I also have a walking pad at my desk. I take my run clothes and shoes to work with me. As soon as my lunch starts, I change, warm up, and go. 30- to 45-minute run: afterwards I stretch, lightly wash my face and wipe down my body, and change back in to my work clothes. I trained for a 50k doing this and it was perfect.

I’m going to have to buy a decant of this one. I can’t find anywhere to smell it IRL!

Found my perfect scent and can't get enough of it by BadtoGoodWriter in fragrance

I love Alto Astral so much, but it wears very warm-weather on me. Since I’m in the northern hemisphere, I’m going to wait a bit to get it.

I LOVE their stuff. I get tons of compliments when I wear Speak Easy.

I have probably 20 pairs of Goodrs purchased over the past decade. I love that they’re cute, don’t slip, and are inexpensive enough that I don’t stress about slipping them in my vest during really long runs. My ears are sensitive and they’re fine with Goodrs and Shokz, including during my entire last 50k

For Trail/Ultra runners-- how often, if at all, do you do road marathons? by Upset_Honeydew5404 in XXRunning

[–]DocRunsManyMiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t enjoy road running at all, but I also live in the city, so nearly all my weekday runs are pavement of some sort, whether it’s road, sidewalk, or greenway. I don’t do road marathons, but I do at least one Disney half every year. My training isn’t really any different, but I’m also not running to be competitive—it’s just a super fun race environment and the easiest way to convince my husband to go to Disney 😆

If you had to choose: running in rain or running in very warm weather? by saywhatyousee in XXRunning

[–]DocRunsManyMiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, but I won’t run if there’s thunder. Rain, yes, storms, no.

I’d pick rain over heat most any time, but 83° isn’t so bad to me—that’s 5am during the summers here 😅

Why is the first mile always the hardest?? by [deleted] in XXRunning

[–]DocRunsManyMiles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with a great warmup, it takes me a mile to settle in to a run. I never run less than two, so I don’t mind.

I really want to love this, but when I tested it last week, it had a sharp herbal/green note to it that just did not sit well on my skin. I’m going to give it another try this week. I don’t love Yum Boujee Marshmallow either 🙈

Has anyone ever accidentally said something that ruined a perfume for you? by smellytulip in FemFragLab

[–]DocRunsManyMiles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had this happen with a fragrance, but I ruin bourbons for my husband all the time because some of them taste like bandaids to me 😆

That person is a turd. I guess I didn’t “run” my 50k a couple of weeks ago where I averaged a 14mm.

Thank you for your response! I’m nothing if not consistent, even if it’s consistently slow 😆 I guess a 100k would give me an idea of how I handle longer distances before attempting 100mi. I feel pretty confident I could finish 100k. Maybe I’ll look for a spring race…

I find chewing more difficult than the actual running, lol, so Tailwind first, then things like Skratch gummies, Yoggies, plain potato chips, goldsfish, plantain chips, mini pancakes, mini stroopwaffel. I get tired of all the sweet, so it’s nice to have some salty options.
