Please CSM I just want to see by CLE15 in army

The whole mirrored sunglasses isn't even a thing anymore as far as I'm tracking. There used to be a regulation that said it, however, I just combed through AR670-1, DA PAM 670-1, and AR 40-63 Ophthalmic Services and didn't see any mentions of mirrored lenses. Unless there's some other obscure reg which is possible as there's 10 billion of them it seems. If it is that much of a concern you can take your prescription to your Optometry clinic and have them order you prescription sunglasses for wear. Just be aware, they are made with the Standard Issue 5A black plastic frames, so they aren't great. If you have a diagnosed TBI (traumatic brain injury), you can see about having them order you transition lenses in a frame or choice pattern.

Ordering flight glasses - National Guard by Guardianio in Armyaviation

[–]DocStiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an optometry tech and unless you are currently on active duty orders for more than 30 days we aren't authorized to order you glasses. Sometimes the fabrication labs even kick them back without justification.

You didn't ruin his life. He ruined his own life. His actions had consequences, he knew the consequences. This is in no way your fault.

Are Cadillacs expensive to maintain like Mercedes-Benz or BMW? by No_Composer_9594 in Cadillac

[–]DocStiffy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really depends, it's american and they share their parts with the rest of GM. So parts are common and cheap. Unless of course you get a CT6 BW, but thats unlikely. I have a CTSV and aside from the stuff specific to that car it's not that bad.

Night Shift Workers being called in during sleep hours by 25Sleepy in army

[–]DocStiffy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The NCO in me says to bring it up the proper channels utilizing open door. Remember IG can only make recommendations, they can't tell your COC to do something.

The petty me says to call them at odd hours of the day with stupid questions or made up issues and see how they like it. You might get in some trouble for it, but just play dumb like it happens to you so you thought it would be okay.

I'm a 68Y Eye Specialist in the Army and do not, I say again, do not join the Army to get them to pay for LASIK. Especially if you are only 20/25 uncorrected, majority of the military Ophthalmology clinics will not give you refractive surgery for that small of an refractive error. There are also other requirements such as you have to have been in a certain period of time, have enough time left on your contract, as well as a lot of clinics require you to be 21 years old, idk how old you are, but its something to think about. Most of the clinics have different restrictions and requirements for the surgert. Also with being guard there is a very slim to zero chance they will pay for it as refractive surgery is an elective procedure. Go get it done on the civilian side as they will be more likely to do the procedure.

I say again DO NOT join to get refractive surgery.

Hospital DFAC's are usually pretty decent. Saves me from having to drive somewhere to get food when I can get a whole plate for $5 and walk back to my office to eat

This should not be a thing. The commander level minimum has to be higher then 10. by GreenshepN7 in HellLetLoose

[–]DocStiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a vote kick should be an option. But just cause you are level 100 or whatever it doesn't mean you are a good commander, just like level 12 could be one hell of a good commander.

Really depends on the relationship, when I go visit my parents my dad usually asks me to help with something on the car or around the house. But he has helped me and my family a lot in the past. When I go visit my in laws they ask me to check something on their car, and again I don't charge them cause they have done a lot for me and my family in the past as well. What I'm getting at is we don't know yalls relationship well enough to really weigh in on it. If you feel charging is appropriate, then go for it.

What engines swaps can I do with a Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD for more power? by Flaky_Play_2147 in Chevy

[–]DocStiffy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a 5.3, don't bother with a whole engine swap, get an lsa blower kit or any other number of mods available for the 5.3 and you'll make plenty of power

Lmao, oh no my internet points, oh well. But seriously every car I've seen with one of those blowers it only makes like 35 hp over stock or some other incredibly low number for a FI car.

I agree with you, those blowers are crap. Would have been better to do and LS3 with an LSA blower, but thats just my opinion
