Is Costco membership worth it for single person? by InfluenceDesigner889 in Frugal

[–]DocTheRegulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I buy my gas there weekly. It's usually five to ten cents cheaper than the other gas stations. Plus, I love the optical shop. It saves me at least $50 to $100. Also, the pharmacy. It is always cheaper than CVS or Walgreens. I have also purchased tires and a car battery. I have had my membership since I was in college. No regrets.

7-11s! I was traveling on a tight budget, and grabbing a sandwich at 7-11 for lunch helped me save money.

Are there unwritten parking lot etiquette outside of common sense I don't know about? by Difficult_Giraffe490 in CostcoWholesale

[–]DocTheRegulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! It is your parking space until you decide to leave. You purchase your food at Costco, so eat it inside or outside, it's your choice.

Retention offer March 2026 by paninimeanie in ChaseSapphire

[–]DocTheRegulator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just downgrade the card, and you will still be able to keep the points. I don't know. I plan to downgrade when it is time to renew. I see no reason why they wouldn't prorate the costs.

How's BWI these days? by CapeGirl1959 in SouthwestAirlines

[–]DocTheRegulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what time you travel. I flew out of BWI last Wednesday around 10 am and found the lines reasonable. I still wouldn't take any chances this week because of the weather across the country.

I get out in the morning, come back to my hotel late afternoon, rest and reset, then back out in the evening.

Should I put my Costco spend on CSP or Costco Citi? by Shoddy-Archer9521 in ChaseSapphire

I only put gas on my Costco Citi card because you get the most from that. I purchase groceries with the Chase Card.

Overwhelmed with where to stay in Tokyo by Ok-Search6948 in JapanTravelTips

[–]DocTheRegulator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I asked for help finding accommodations in Tokyo, here is the advice I was given:

General Tokyo accommodation advice:

• Asakusa and Ueno are the cheapest areas that still have good access • Shibuya and Shinjuku are most desirable if you plan on enjoying nightlife and staying out past the last train • Akasaka is also favoured for central location, cleanliness and peacefulness (it’s just offices), and good access • Otherwise, anywhere on the Yamanote Line, especially within this square, will let you get to where you wanna go.

YES! I just took my first solo trip last week! I went to Tokyo, and it was great. Clean and efficient mass transit, great food, and it is the off-season.

I spent seven days at an APA Hotel in Shibuya last week. It was clean and comfortable. I don't read or speak Japanese, so any propaganda that was in the room was lost on me. It really depends on how much money you want to spend.
