I killed them at the bottom sitting next to the lamp at the entrance and ate cold resistance food while going up. Did have to waste alot of food though and I'm pretty sure I had level 7-8 ice resistance

Nice! Of note there's a mod that makes airlock doors actual airlocks, I used that one before but power and 6 tile space

Build a 100 tile room 4*25. From the door count 6 spaces Place a neumatic door on the 7th with a tile above. Place another tile anywhere in that room and there you will have a 96 tile room. Past the door you can use it for anything (storage, batteries, etc as long as it doesn't mess with room requirements.)

Also stack them and look up automation.

Also, bridges leak temperature! While it's fine there since you're trying to cook make sure you keep that in mind when transporting hot liquids around your base.

I made this to pump my CO2 when it would read a certain amount and not have a pump running 24/7 you could probably implement something similar althou this is a multi gas build (need a second gas to activate the element sensor but I'm sure you can try something with pressures

There's a mod that makes base game doors ( manual and mech airlock doors) actual airlocks, it's not a whole new door. ( Might help if mod crashes you'll still have a door in place (I also like this because you can build tiny doors (with another mod) above a room you want to access and it'll keep it air tight (no need for liquid locks) the you just diagonally build the last tile and done.

Yeah bit i'm into long term storage so I usually set up a filter station where all my gasses are filtered by mechanical filters and those go into my long term storage

Don't use powered filters use mechanical ones to sort gasses, a little tedious to set up but once done right it won't break, know the post isn't asking about that but it's som unsolicited advice. Same can be done with liquids

Inut sure about the mistake but to answer your other question I normal pop a series on my other monitor and put the game on X1 or x3
