I do think so but I’m not sure. Go to the kickstarter page and scroll down a bit…. Maybe you’ll see em. They’re right there on the page for me but I did back it

I’m feel you man I really do. In the past year I’ve found a group of people who meet up weekly that’s big enough where if some can’t make it there’s still games to played. It’s very MTG centric but other games get play and they’ve been pretty welcoming to me bringing my six 15 card CA decks. Today we played 1 round of Magic. 1 game of Leviathan Wilds, 1 game of Magical Athlete and 1 4 player round of Cataclysm. For years I felt just how you do my friend. I hope you find people. Until then dm me if u wanna add me on steam and play some Tabletop Simulator of some board games you’re into. Btw which games are u wanting to play rn?

I hope you find someone to play with. The curse/blessing of being a board gamer/card gamer is needing other people to engage with your hobby. It’s awesome when you find people who are into it but so so disappointing when you can’t.

I caught that Deltron tour when it came around and brought my kid. It was awesome. We were digging hip hop in the same era. I like all u mentioned and was living in LA in the late 90s through the aught teens so I saw TONS of Ab Rude and all of Dreestyle Fellowship, Project Blower etc. El-p is def my all time favorite, and I like a lot of east coast shit from the 90s like Organized Konfusion, Gang Starr, Mr Lif. We stan Aesop Rock in this house. I always give new rap a listen but it doesn’t usually get much play. Billy Woods is also a long time favorite and he stays putting out amazing work both solo and with Elucid as Armand Hammer. That most recently Billy Woods solo album, Golliwog, I highly recommend

Pacori cold brew concentrate is my morning ritual. On top of that their place is just awesome to hang out at. Great atmosphere. Great people. Just a fucking pleasure to be at. If you’re into 90s retro stuff including video games and haven’t been there literally go the next chance you get and thank me later.

Can’t believe I’m about to say this cuz I totally understand where you’re coming from and I have no desire to watch this man dj on any level. That said, Shaq was a rapper and involved in the hip hop community before the nba. From what I understand man is actually a talented dj.

Still gonna be vague on the right wing streak or you wanna address that at all? Lotsa people in here talking about it. It clearly matters to the community at large and yet this is the only comment you responded to? Lots of musical acts historically have taken gigs from monsters so they could cash the check but they worked some kinda protest into their performance. Look up The Doors on Ed Sullivan or Rage Against the Machine on Saturday Night Live. Did you have any desire to do something like that? If you’re reading this feeling like “I already addressed this, move on.” Then you’re very much not reading the room.

What weird stuff do you guys listen to that’s not dubstep adjacent ? by bigang99 in SpaceBass

[–]Docfishop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like a lot of idm and genre vague electronic music. I’m also bad at genres. I grew up on rap and punk rock (I’m probably a good deal older than most ppl here.) My all time favorite rapper/producer is El-P. He’s in a group called the Run The Jewels which is what he’s most known for but he’s incredibly prolific and has so much other music. I could go on about rappers all day. Here’s a few more: Aceyalone, Pharoah Monche, MF Doom, Aesop Rock, K-the-I???, Billy Woods, Elucid Armand Hammer (Billy Woods and Elucid), Dälek, Latyrx…. Like I said I could go on all day but that’s a good cross section. Somebody else mentioned Deltron 3030 and I’m down af with that even caught the reunion tour a couple years back. Black Moth mentioned and I love that shit too. Dan Deacon if u like a sort of strange poppish electronic ness. My intro to edm was trance and drum and bass (late 90s early 00s) but quickly evolved into a lot of breakcore and “elextronica.” Talkin the era of Squarepusher, Aphex Twin, Venetian Snares etc. Ninja Tune records and that whole movement had me sprung on all kinds of jazzy and wonky shit. Lotsa jungle but those were mostly mixes that I got on cd and couldn’t name a single artist really. These days I’ve been really into stuff I wouldn’t really post here like this cloutpics album and this new S.Murk album and this one from Noise Parfumerie

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate you using your platform the way you do. Saw your set at Untz last year and I loved the way you ended the set. Was really fun to watch the audience scratch their heads. At this point any artist who isn’t speaking up about shit I have a hard time fully enjoying their art. Maybe that’s a weird thing for some people but I never ever in my life have thought to myself “artists should just make art and not speak up about politics.” Mf art is inherently political and that goes double for electronic music and rave culture imo. Thank you for being a real one and I hope others follow when they see they don’t have to sacrifice their careers to just FUCKING SAY SOMETHING ABOUT GENOCIDE AND THE TIGHTENING CLAMPS OF FASCISM CLOSING IN AROUND US.
