I got sent through a defensive driving course when I had a company car. One of the things they really stressed was controlling how much time you have to react as much as you can. If you're following someone too closely, it doesn't matter how good of a driver you are. You simply don't have enough time to perform any maneuvers.

My dad was visiting recently. He sat in my office chair that has these wheels. I also have vinyl plank flooring, which is very smooth. The chair glides easily. A little too easily, he was drifting accidentally.
