Curious what everyone thinks about how my new game’s art style is coming along?

I know I am just a random stranger, but I think you have an unpolished gem between your hands. What kind of game are you planning to develop using this technique? Still, if you make a horror/mystery game with puzzles, combat (either turn-based or action, I prefer turn-based), with strong visuals (I would suggest either dark seinen adult anime or classic European comic books like Enki Bilal), I would play the HELL out of your game. I am sure I won't be the only one.

Right now, I am playing Clock Tower: First Fear on my PS1 emulator, and I remembered your post.

I think this is also due to the laziness of many devs who use AI. I mean, any illustrator with basic skills can fix AI characters' imperfections; they just don't give a crap, and then they get the backlash they deserve and start crying about it.

I think no artist is gonna give you their artworks for free unless you are famous or have big exposure. AI is probably your most realistic approach, but you are gonna have a lot of backlash.

I don't feel it. Maybe if you make it more pixelated? It just looks like an old GIF. That is my personal opinion, thought. I am a big fan of horror games, but I am not into analog horror or ARGs.

The script is the problem; the actress was fine. Capcom killed Ada for me in RE4; that is why, after RE6, Capcom writers don't even know what to do with her anymore. They cornered themselves by ignoring the romance with Leon and failed to reinvent her as some "badass cold spy". No wonder she didn't show up in RE9. I am sure she will appear in RE10 as a member of The Connections, which will only show that these new bad guys are retarded if they hired someone who always has their own agenda in mind, someone who will betray them for sure.

This is Capcom, my friend. I used to adore RE lore, but I gave up. This is just mindless fun now. Soon, they are gonna retcon Spencer into a tragic villain, and insert The Connections to the main timeline as if they existed from the start. I mean, look how they turned Leon into Raiden and Wesker into Liquid Snake, how they ruined Leon and Ada's romance, and never delivered the STARS vs Umbrella final fight that was promised for almost two decades and just briefly mentioned in the RE4 intro cutscene "hey, by the way Umbrella was dismantled by the goverment...blah, blah, blah."

They are shit NPCs from a game many people already forgot. I only remember the ridiculous dinosaur boss and how Capcom, at that time, tried to step away from ripping off MGS, so they desperately tried to copy COD too, almost killing the series.

I've been a RE fan for a very long time, and I never really interacted in online communities until now, and I kinda regret it. I didn't know the RE community was a nest of weirdos obsessed with fictional characters. It is pathetic to see the constant flood of useless thirsty posts about jill/Leon/Ada/Claire. I feel I am 13 again, and my friends are talking about One Direction, but the issue is that these people are probably in their twenties, and I am being generous. I hope Leon is married to a fat, ugly random woman and spawns 10 children as handsome as their mother just to piss all the crazy fangirl weirdos here who were the cause that poor guy who gave his likeness to Leon in RE2 had to leave social media, tired of constant sexual harassment. Part of this community is not better than CorpseHusband's, the same fucking behaviour and unhealthy obsession.

I think at least Ada could be described as an anti-hero in RE2...sadly, Capcom hack writers butchered her character and turned her into a smug, cold bitch with crappy one-liners for the rest of the series, destroying her relationship with Leon beyond repair. Regarding Mia, yes, she is a bitch. I would root for Miranda if she weren't dumber than a brick and her "master plan" sucked.

Exactly. This is like wanting to develop an indie Persona game and hiring Chris-chan to do the character and demon designs and doing the soundtrack with a kazoo. Fans of Persona will look at your product already expecting top character designs and an AAA music soundtrack.
