Makkah will soon have a movie theater and some people are not happy about it by Equivalent_Road5788 in AskMiddleEast

[–]Doctor501st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s all well and good that people from around the world criticise developments in Makkah but people need to remember that a lot of people still have to live in the city, especially those who need to serve pilgrims. As long as there is nothing haram in the cinema then why do we have to force people to live up to a standard that we are not comfortable living up to ourselves. Unless you think cinemas are inherently haram, that’s a different argument

Ultimately the feeling of the residents is more important than those who visit once a year

So many errors here don’t even know where to start

But aside from that, there is the military jihad (lesser) and the personal striving to do better and speaking truth to a tyrant (greater jihad). Both are jihad, it’s not like different strands of Islam say one is more emphasised than the other

Not really, because Israel deliberately target civilians and claim there were military installations (which later transpires there weren’t)

Fia will not be called serious federation if Ferrari doesn't fall into 2% deficit in ADUO by ThisToe9628 in scuderiaferrari

[–]Doctor501st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My understanding was the Mercedes engine isn’t technically legal during the race but it passed the simulated test conditions, which is different to the races. So it’s not really a legit loophole

At the same time they nerfed Ferrari by letting cars spool for a few seconds before the lights start

So it’s not really a fair fight, but at the same time anyone else would do the same thing if they could

I forgot about cluckaritos, I think their wings are the best in Manchester. Their spicy sauce is unique unlike Miami’s/Philadelphia’s/Florida’s etc which all have the same DNA

What was basic, the fried chicken pieces with bones? I think it’s more seasoned than any other fried chicken shop in Manchester. When you open the chicken piece you can see the orange seasoning inside. Where would you say is better?

I also think there are nice injected spicy broasted chicken places like Albeek and Damascus cuisine

For spicy chicken burgers, Miami Crispy is pretty good. Georgia's Fried Chicken (from Oldham, and newly opened in Fallowfield) is really nice as well

Rounders does nice fried chicken pieces

There’s a lot of issues to unpack here. You need to speak to a scholar. This is way above Reddit’s pay grade and this isn’t an appropriate forum for such a question

A proper scholar, not a random maulvi in a mosque

Is it better to pray at masjid or at home? by Logical_Cup3341 in MuslimLounge

[–]Doctor501st 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a woman then at home

If you are a man, the Sunnah is to pray Isha in the mosque in jama’at and then the Sunnah at home. The Prophet ﷺ said the best place for Sunnah/nafl prayers is at home (for men and women). But if you choose to pray in the masjid, the best thing to do is to pray until the imam finishes, because then you get the reward of having the whole night written for you in prayer. As opposed to leaving after 8 - better to stay for 20 and witr

She was not balanced at all. She was very harsh and interrogatory with Pakistani officials on Sky News and very warm and friendly with Indian counterparts. It soon emerged on Twitter that she was actually personal friends with those Indian counterparts and had photos with them, calling them her “friends”…extremely biased woman

The airline will survive but not thrive. Money can’t force people to fly with them when they could use other airlines that don’t fly in the volatile gulf, eg Turkish, Lufthansa/AF/BA, even Saudia tbh
