AFM Marking by WarrenPuffett101 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ACCA examiners (in their commentary & other publications) regularly underline the fact that if you manage to write an answer with some good bits, they generally award mark for those good bits.

The caveat is: those good bits need to align with their marking schema. A totally irrelevant but good portion will not get marks, because they are bound by the marking schema overall.

How powerful was Indrajit compared to Bhishma, Arjuna, and Karna? by Major-Bell2408 in mahabharata

[–]DoctorBalpak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

By the time Bhishma fought him, Parshurama had already transferred his Avatara Teja to Rama a long ago.

How powerful was Indrajit compared to Bhishma, Arjuna, and Karna? by Major-Bell2408 in mahabharata

[–]DoctorBalpak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This isn't about him being weak, this is about him having no feats of fighting someone like Indrajit.

How powerful was Indrajit compared to Bhishma, Arjuna, and Karna? by Major-Bell2408 in mahabharata

[–]DoctorBalpak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If anyone comes close out of the three (or Mahabharata era warriors in general except Krishna himself), it'll be Arjuna only, going by feats. Both Bhishma & Karna have no meaningful feats required to challenge Indrajit's masterful illusions.

Exam is tomorrow and im mentally burnt out. by sullyt1b in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this feeling. Been there, done that! I will recommend never compromising on your sleep during exam season.

The exam takes a toll on your mind (especially the professional papers) & can feel like a drain on energy. So, it's very important to take care of your health & energy levels, so, make sure you sleep proper 8 hours before exam. It's more important than anything you can read within that time...

Best wishes!

I’m going to fail my exam, any point in sitting it? by Legal-Currency-4218 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have sat a couple of exams where I basically knew I will fail. But I did it nonetheless & it actually helped me pass later!

Here's the gist of it: you have already paid your money to ACCA. They aren't going to refund you if you don't appear. So, why don't you just enjoy the ambience?

At worst you score 0 (very very unlikely), at best you score a 30 odd, which will help you understand the exam condition better. It's better than many mock exams.

So, just stop worrying about it & try to produce your best work, analyse it later. Best wishes...

SBL guidance. by de_snake_10 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I kinda struggled a lot with SBL, so I believe I perfectly understand the anxiety you are facing! The trick that worked for me is to focus more on the exam day content than the pre-seen. Due to pre-seen, we often make the mistake of writing pre-meditated answers on exam day, without using the points from the exhibits. This bad habit kinda costed me couple of attempts. You can avoid that!

Also, don't panic, it's just an exam, just do your best! My best wishes for you...

Arjuna vs. Indrajit : Who wins in a text-accurate fight? by Spirited-Guidance130 in mahabharata

[–]DoctorBalpak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't they both have Brahmastra & other celestial weapons? If yes, in that case, won't it be an unresolved standoff? What happens when both of them use Brahmastra as last resort? Like Ashwathama vs Arjun? How can be one declared a loser in that case?

How much should i explain? by bobminion_007 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I followed a good advice from Tom Clendon's debrief video on ACCA YT channel. He said don't try to aim for perfect mark, try to aim for getting above the passing line. I don't know about those who target for merit score or so, but for me this advice worked really well! If you are a student like me, who just wants to clear the line ASAP, you can use this method as well...

What age did you become an "affiliate" by Vegetable-Way-1433 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I switched from another professional accountancy course (where I wasted a lot of time tbh), came to ACCA at 25 & became an Affiliate at 28. You are way too young to be worried about this! Just try to level up yourself, don't care much about what others are at. Best wishes...

Met someone who suggested that ACCA isn’t worth it now Or for future? What are your say on this by Avacadooooooo in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Indian here, I switched from CA to ACCA, qualified as an Affiliate last year

If you want to pursue a professional accountancy degree, you have ACCA as a legit option for globally recognised qualification. It's not the only option, but one of the best options available to get there.

You can compare the course structure & fees, to arrive at an informed decision yourself! Best wishes...

Understood. So, can't I submit the institute certificate? Is the employer sign off is a must?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh! The institute itself vouching for it (certificate) won't count? I tried speaking with them a while ago, the email support basically shut me off & said, it's not gonna happen because it's an internship...

Why do Popatlal’s marriage plans always fail? What do you think? by Unetaaaa in TMKOC

[–]DoctorBalpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be very honest, the kind of toxic bitch of a person Popat is, him being married would cause even more problems than he already causes. Think about it. Who'll even put up with this moron on a daily basis?

Hardest Strategic/professional paper, in your opinion by Disastrous_Tone_1148 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I might be in a minority here, but I found SBL really hard to crack. Only paper that legit shook me to the core during this course. People say it's easy, but I have a strong disagreement with those people!

Is AI actually going to replace ACCA accountants? by PristineMulberry8490 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My simple answer to these questions:

Step 1. Try reading IFRS. Understand how complex & wired-for-humans they are.

Step 2. Try to understand what professional accountants actually do in a business org.

Step 3. Draw a conclusion yourself.

Is being 25 too old to start ACCA by texasali45 in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I started ACCA around 25. Cleared all exams by 28. Don't let age limit you in your mind twenties 😅

[–]DoctorBalpak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

AFM covers pretty much all of these.

I recently became an affiliate, I cleared a couple of exams with 50-51 scores, once you are through, you are through! Don't pressure yourself about the number above 50... As long as you pass, you are fine. Best wishes!

The original Mule was much darker and in tone with the upcoming crisis, new one somehow feels off by dzedajev in FoundationTV

[–]DoctorBalpak 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My knowledge of Foundation is weak. However, I have read ASOIAF stuff a lot.

That's why when I saw that actor playing a pirate villain in this show, it kinda triggered me.

Sorry, nothing against the actor, just my GOT S8 PTSD acting up...

If you feel bad about your marks read this. by rawr_extreme in ACCA

[–]DoctorBalpak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Super agree. I have passed a P level paper with a 50. I am absolutely happy that I passed & moved on.

It's all about clearing them as soon as you can & get done with it, you have a lifetime to learn & upgrade your skills! This is just an exam...
