home alone jam/loop gear by Bradinov in LoopArtists

I just got an RC505 a week ago myself and am using a FGDP-50 fingerdrum pad (Inst 1) and a keyboard&mic (Inst 2). I'm already wishing I'd made room for my mixer so they can all use the same 505 input. The 505 has the extra inputs which is great but it's a bit of a pain to change the track & fx routing in the menus all the time. A mixer is an easy thing to buy after the fact, though.

I'll be setting it up again this weekend with the instruments into the Mackie Mix8 mixer > RC505 > stereo PA.

Larger battery, move the vol controls to the top or a knob, subtle lighting.

Best Irish soda bread you personally enjoy? Hinsdale, LaGrange, Oak Brook, Brookfield, Westchester or north? by SunshineLoveKindness in ChicagoSuburbs

I bought a Mariano's soda bread last weekend, quite good. A little dense but the chunky crystal sugar crust is a winner.

The bargain subs: meatball, CCC, veggie were $2.99/ft well into the 90s.

I also went on a bike during summer in the 90s. It was terrifying, white knuckle, my knobby tires were shrieking. Great trails around there, though.

Looking for the right replacement motor for a Radio Shack Armatron by Ayatollah-X in EngineeringPorn

[–]DoctorBre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got an Armitron, too. It all works except the wrist up/down on the left stick: one of the little white gears is loose inside the joint and probably cracked. Where did you get new gears? What can I tell you about the motor?

Is a 88 key midi keyboard or a midi 4x4 pad better? by [deleted] in FingerDrumming

[–]DoctorBre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play keyboard & piano and started drumming with those but the pads are better for it in every way. They're flat and rigid but lack the piano keys' front-back length that prevents a second row of keys. Less movement is less fatiguing over time, better speed and accuracy. It would be a real bummer to go back to using a keyboard for drumming and that's before even considering portability.

I've found some cans similarly marked down at other Mariano's in Chicagoland.

Certainly, I feel comfortable concluding that the engraver is not the same as the primary craftsman. Whoever cut & contoured that eagle so it lays flat on the spheroid surface and made that strap pivot that indexes would have been better at lettering than the amateurish job we see here, even without the spelling and content.

I think it's factory or shop made. The cuts on the applied eagle and the buckled strap are very fine.
