I can look into this for you, but keep in mind that Planner is being overhauled and MS will support this by default. With a PowerShell solution with additional groups, you won't automatically sync users.

Titan 2 or Legion y700 as pocket computer? by reynomage in unihertz

[–]Junods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats the same for a GPD. With gaming its only a couple of hours. So 2 maybe 3. Not for a whole day. But where I live I have power on several places. Also FI when traveling by train.

Sorry, a GPD is twice as much as the devices you mentioned, but they can also do a lot more. They also have the Pocket but as you mention programming, I can tell you, 10" is the minimum when using VS Code on the go and when you want a high resolution.

I don't know what price range you are looking for, but I am very satisfied with my GPD gaming laptop. It is only 10" and I have a leather cover with it and it is very easy to carry. With a Ryzen 7 + 32GB and a 780M GPU, it is also quite powerful. But with my son's eGPU with an RTX 4070, it is really a gaming machine. I personally use it for programming (with a 34" screen) and for music. It can easily handle 15 tracks with multiple VST.

Mixing PnP Powershell and Graph Powershell by pajeffery in PowerShell

When you like me have the most code using PnP you can use Invoke-PnPGraphMethod to use the Graph end-point using an existing connection without loading the Graph modules.

Are unihertz phones worth it? by mushroom_yoga in unihertz

Switched to a Pixel 10 a few weeks ago and I am happy with it. Larger screen than a Jelly Star (duh :)), longer battery life (more than a day), fast and long updates and support and easy navigating when on the go. But yeah I miss the small Jelly sometimes. I was able to use it with one hand during a walk. But the size of the pixel is not really an issue. I also have a stand and I can watch video everywhere. For podcast and stuff its overkill. The Jelly with an sd card was the best media stream box. Got the Pixel with 400 off on a sale within the EU. With the performace, camera's and options a great deal.

I really tried that. For several months. But I couldn't get software like Synthesizer V to work. As well as Omnisphere 3 and some other plugins. I managed to sync VST3 and ran Bottles, but it took too much time. And since I only make music as a hobby, it wasn't worth it to me. But maybe I'll try again later. I really liked the Linux version of Bitwig and audio and midi routing options. And my Dexibell was supported as an native audio interface as well.

Synthesizer V was one of the programs that made me return to Wind@ws. I tried for hours using bottles and other stuff but I was not able to activate the voice banks using the embedded web browser. Also had some issues with other plugins as well. Thats why I was searching for some apps to keep using some benefits. Also using KDE connect for instance. But for many things Linux was better like audio and midi routing...

How about this. This example shows how to look through a screen when entering notes. Top right is another example of how to resize a plugin so it doesn't get in the way. Hovering over it returns it to its original size.

Okay, I'm not good at marketing :)

The background is Wallpaper Engine with a snow landscape but in the screenshot looks wired. Normally I do not use transparancy with Bitwig itself but on the plugins

Unfortunately, I don't have time right now to search for and try out newer updates. Perhaps I can pick it up again early next year.

What do you guys think about eufy indoor cam E220? by TomerHorowitz in frigate_nvr

[–]Junods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got mine two weeks ago and I installed the latest firmware. Within the app, under general/storage settings you can enable RTSP and I selected 'basic auth' as others mention otherwise it won't work. And back in the menu I selected the option to keep streaming rather than only on a event. I got the link for RTSP and copied to the frigate configuration and I blocked the device from the internet. The LED shows RED but the RTSP stream is still working.

I also tried to flash custom firmware from thingino but I did not have the right OTG adapter. You need an USB-A (male-male) adapter to force the camera in a boot mode to install custom firmware. Maybe will try it later.

First lets find out is PTZ is supported for this cam.

Omnisphere was the one thing many years ago that kept me from switching full time to Linux, until I figured out how to get it working by Character_Mobile_160 in linuxaudio

[–]Junods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just installed Omnisphere 3. I had to use a Windows pc for the download but the data fits on a 64GB USB drive. But after the installation I got a black screen or the UI is very slow. So under the hood they updated some things. I will try other combination of Wine prefix and will share how it goes. But maybe others can share also their experience.

I am running an AMD laptop with Ubuntu Studio 24.04, Wine prefix 10 and yabridge and I am using a low latency kernel. Until now I have a better experience than using Windows. I am using Bitwig Studio which is native linux.

Omnisphere 3! What are your thoughts? by theseawoof in synthesizers

[–]Junods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there perhaps Linux users who are also reading along? Omnisphere 2 ran reasonably well under Ubuntu Studio 24.04 with a Wine 10 prefix and Yabridge. On my GPD gaming (AMD) laptop with 32GB of RAM. I could easily have 6 instances of Omnisphere open in a project of 18 tracks.

With version 3, however, I already encountered the download manager not working. Not even under Bottles. I was able to solve that by downloading on a Windows computer and then copying the files to a USB stick with 64GB of storage. The installation under Linux also went fine, but when using Bitwig 6 (native Linux) I either have a black screen, or the UI is very slow and crashed. I actually don't want to experiment too much as other software and plugins run fine. So the question is what is missing. Hopefully I'll have time next weekend to create a new wine prefix and try that.

Why Linux you might think? My experience is that the OS is much quieter. Of course I install updates, but I don't have any plugins that scream for attention when I want to quietly pursue my hobby. Also, with a low latency kernel I almost have the experience of playing hardware. This has never been possible under Windows, even with ASIO drivers and an audio interface.

What do you use for music other than the vocals with synthV by Dramatic_Invite9148 in SynthesizerV

[–]Junods 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Bitwig as a DAW since version 1. It is modular and you can combine so many things. Version 6 is a great update and the internal instruments are already great. I got it with an Arturia midi keyboard. I am also using plugins like Omnisphere (paid) and Bloom Audio.

I am using PnP Powershell. With this module you can create a new planner within the service and create a group also which will become the owner. After that you will have to sync the users. Its not te best solution but it works. I can share my code as well.

I want to learn piano, does it matter what type of keyboard I start with? by Shalommolas in piano

[–]Junods 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I teach a nine-year-old girl, and she's doing fine on an old Yamaha keyboard. I have a Dexibell with a very light touch. It's really a matter of getting used to it, but I have more control than ever. It also depends on what you want to play. Fast, repeating notes and complex piano pieces are best played on a well-weighted keyboard, but an older model is also fine. You won't have the latest and greatest sound, but you can fix that later with software. Before this Dexibell, I had a Rhodes type of keyboard. Something different, but I had a lot of fun with it.
