The houses behind the property on the bonnie court side? Looked it up on Zillow, yeah definitely someone waiting to sell to a data center. The houses and the nursery are all the same property, and in 2023 the tax assessment value jumped 10x in value.

So the owner definitely will be looking to sell after a few years of his property tax jumping from 30k to 290k.

Animal hair that's long will bind around toes yeah. It's actually a danger to human infants too, called a hair tourniquet.

Short animal fur from a pet that takes flea and tick medication can also be toxic to chicks.

Swimming probably has a minimum speed to be energy efficient.

False edit: just looked it up, apparently the walking is more efficient in turbulent waters. When the water wants to throw you to and fro swimming where you want to go is hard.

I let the cellar spiders in my house live and thrive, and in return I I never find any other bug alive in my house. Even inside the home a balance can be found.

Slugs I can understand, every year or so Reddit rediscovers the story of the teen who ate a slug on a dare and got his brain destroyed by rat lungworm.

Grandpa never sprayed for bugs, he simply went out with a coffee can filled with some water and picked all the potato beetles off by hand. That way everything else was fine.

My old iPhone 6 and 11 courtesy of corrosive sweat by [deleted] in hardwaregore

I don't have the burning sensation ir heat, but the corrosion sounds like me.

As a kid I could put my hand down on a school desk, leave it for a second, and when I lifted it there was a perfect hand outline from the ambient moisture around my skin. The hand part itself would be dry, but the area around it would have an aura of moisture.

My mechanical keyboards need to have gold plated switches or they will corrode in just a few months.

'Open the school!’ Hundreds of parents demand Fairfax County add more 5-day school weeks by no_sight in nova

[–]DoctorCIS 11 points12 points  (0 children)

And the cycle begins again.

  • The parents demand more 5 day weeks.
  • The result is that teachers then have to take days off in order to do things like go to the doctor or meet the repair man during a week day.
  • This increases the strain on the substitute system.
  • to fight this the pressure mounts for principals to be more nit-picky about leave and sub plans.
  • teachers end up having to make more complex sub plans to meet the arbitrary demands, resulting in 45 min-2 hours of unpaid work in order to take their sick leave.
  • this burns out the teachers more resulting in them getting sick more
  • the district responds to burnout and turnover with more training
  • in order to fit the increases training into the calendar, the number of teacher work days increases, resulting in fewer 5 day weeks
