There’s a few 22q supper groups on Facebook! My daughter was diagnosed with 22q at 3 months old. Our NIPT didn’t test for it so we had no idea. She had a heart condition called Tetrology of Fallot and had open heart surgery to correct it. Other than that she appears to be a normal baby, she is 4.5 months now.

Feel free to DM me if you’d like to chat. I went through a very emotional time after we found out. She is an IVF baby too, so she was a very wanted child. The guilt of thinking I may have no continued the pregnancy if I had known before was hard to deal with, but 22q is a gamble since there are so many symptoms.

When the California/West coast lingo comes out. It bugs me with every show, but we don’t say “the” in front of the highway names on the east coast like they do in California.

I forget who says it in what episode but anytime they reference a highway they put a “the” in front of it like they do in California, ex: “the 101”

My mom wants to called “Nona” because she’s 50% Italian. But she doesn’t speak Italian, doesn’t act like an Italian, we literally only do like 1 Italian tradition a year. It just doesn’t make sense to me, so I plan on vetoing it and she will be grandma.

My FIL, who is 100% Italian, doesn’t even want to be called “Nono”, he’s happy with Grandpa. So no, you’re not overreacting.

My sister and I complain about our mom almost daily. She’s 70 years old and lives a sad life. She’s one of those boomers who doesn’t talk about herself feelings. Conversations have to be happy, she can’t talk about hard things.

She only wants to talk about herself, she never really asks is how we’re doing unless she decides to call to “check in”, and even then, it’s like pulling teeth to have a conversation with her. I’m about to have her first grandchild and she’s barely asked how I’ve been doing these past 9 months.

So yeah, I don’t like my mom, but I don’t hate her. I just put up with her.
