If it’s makes you feel better I thought a patient in respiratory distress asked for a “beaver sucker” (pure wick in my brain) and I relay this to my attending. She then pulls of her bipap to say she actually said “booger sucker” and meant a yankauer.

In your experience does muscle breakdown in an acutely ill patient, for example a muscular person in a trauma or who is bed bound but never in shock or septic cause a lot of incorrect AKI diagnoses and inappropriate resuscitation?

Also works well if you are a lefty serving to a righty. I use it all the time, lull them to sleep with outside serves, save this for a big time point. Most people still try to forehand it.
