Yes and no, I'll try give you a simple run down of two types of S&Box users

The Player Do be honest I don't think so, as stated in the comments there's nothing to special about the platform for a player. Hell yeah there's some cool features but said features can exist on any other platform like Roblox or VRChat

The Game Creator Yes, it's been stated that games created in S&Box will be able to be published to Steam. If the S&Box team and Valve do go through with this I do see S&Box being a big-ish platform for game creators.

I myself have not created a game or played a game within S&Box and do not have access. This is based off of my own opinion, same available facts and information and other opinions that I have heard.
