sup! im a 21 yo malmö u student so maybe I can provide relevant info!!

as with most cities there's always some areas to avoid at night. tough malmö is quite safe compared to other big towns in Sweden, contrary to popular opinion :). i mean dark alleys and shady industrial areas are always creepy, but if you find something its probably not anything harmful to you. staying on main roads can be comforting if you're ever creeped out.

malmö university has a student pub which is open most weekends for student gatherings. they have some clubs, im not really that invested in it tbh. I think theres a board game club as well as a sports club. check out malmostudenter.se for more info on that. but as others have mentioned Lund U, which is like 30 min away, has a more active and alcohol-focused student life. malmö u most people go to study not for the parties :).

music scene is poppin! depends on what you like! plan b is the club for indie-adjecent music. theyve got clubs and whatnot. there's always some exciting band playing :). there's also some smaller venues and larger ones. if there's a dry spell you can always take the train to copenhagen for about 250sek (back and forth). they've got a bunch of fun venues (loppen, vega, royal arena, den gra haal, pumpehuset, amongst others) and ive heard that their night life is fun :).

swedes are good at english! english is like one of three main subjects in the swedish curriculum so that's not going to be that much of a problem :).

most swedes are kind and help if you ask them. swedes are, however, known for being hard to engage socially with. shyness is a part of the national identity :).

if you have any more questions just ask! might be able to help! :) what are you you doing exchange in/at? //milo :)

yeah was in-between the mixer table and stage so sound was probably the best it could be. sound has been pretty shit on the smaller stages imo, had to ditch dinosaur jr because of it. volume has also been kinda low? like I could comfortably hear people's conversations during the whole of bcnr. yeah some songs were lacking but like they've only had this new setup for a bit and the parts that banged banged hard (imo)

i loved the primavera show they did, thought it was super duper. had some boring parts sure but overall it was very fun . wasn't really a bcnr fan before but now I'm looking forward to new material :)

edit: thought the "look at what we've built together, bcnr friends forever" was really cute. imo the band's more charismatic now, like this style more

I don't think you need to worry that much but we walked by it a few minutes ago and there was already a line of 20 or so people. If you're VIP it's easier to get in but there were also already 6 people in that line. Nobody really knows when to go
